well that was pretty shit. the demo only lasts for twenty days and it consists of one act. controls felt a little weird, but the music was great. also: grass level.

Well considering its still months till this comes out I wouldn't expect much more.
I liked it. Physics took a while to audjust to but they felt real good and good god it was fucking beautiful.
I think I want to listen to that remix all day long.
I went into this not expecting anything, and I'm a little disappointed that we only get one level, without even seeing it from both Modern and Classic perspectives. But my god, it's fun to play, it's gorgeous to look at and it feels like it should. Sonic also looks exactly as he should with that classic design.
It's just he music that blows me away. It's so close to the original yet feels so different. This game is now on my radar.
This is exactly what Sonic 4 should have been. Good level design and classic gameplay brought up to a modern standard.. He still has a bit too much weight, he drops like a rock when you're in the air but the physics are still a huge improvement.
Disappointed that you don't get to try the modern Sonic sections though, as they're what I'm worried about.. since every single recent Sonic game has been trash.
After playing the demo I have realised how repetitive Sonic levels really are, while I was playing it I felt I had played that level countless times before. I didn't like how it went really blurry either when you were going fast, made my eyes hurt. Other than that it's a Sonic game.

I enjoyed the demo, but it seemed like the framerate was off? Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed any type I jumped the game sort of hitched a bit. Maybe it's just me.
I'm curious to see how the game ends up, but part of me is still content with Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Knuckles on the Sonic/Sega collection I have for ps3.
Well aren't the Modern Sonic levels basically just like Sonic Colours and the daytime levels in Sonic Unleashed? I assume they'll be perfectly playable experiences, but not the main draw. Hold forward to win, while colourful stuff happens all around you.I just wrote a goddamn exhaustive review of the demo, but to sum it up: I'm really looking forward to this game coming out. If the modern Sonic parts don't eff it up, it could be fantastic.
Goddamn that demo looked nice. When you look in the background there are tons of layers of detail that you're never really going to see unless you stop and stare at it. What kind of sucks is that you don't see any of the detail as you're running because everything winds up getting pretty blurry. Aside from a few parts where the controls went a little funky on me I really enjoyed the demo and was more impressed by it than I thought I was going to be.
Been playing this a bit, it seems pretty good. I actually kind of liked Sonic 4 though, so what do I know. The controls do seem to jank out on me sometimes. A couple times I swear to god Sonic jumped when I didn't hit the button a couple times.
Has anyone managed to beat the demo level in under a minute? I've come within a tenth of a second twice but I just can't seem to do it.
downloaded this today totally not knowing about it. there's 13 days left to play this dated janky demo.
I know playing as classic sonic is supposed to have it's differences, but he's missing that kind of bounciness when you jump on badniks. Also the momentum can be stopped pretty suddenly at times in weird ways (full stop running up a hill instead of slowing down) .
@SuperfluousMoniker: Act 1 or 2?
I managed to do Act 2 in 2 minutes!!!!
The inclusion of the boost makes sense as it gives the player the ability to smash up dudes without losing speed
the second demo makes a much better case then the first demo they put out.
i will probably buy this. though between dark souls and zelda i may not have time
I really enjoyed the demo for this game and will probably pick it up come January when this crazy game season has finally died down. I'm busy enough right now with Dark Souls and Uncharted 3 and Zelda is just a little bit away. I was surprised though by how much I liked the demo and I hope that quality stays consistent throughout the game.
