The Sonic series features the platforming legend and Sega's mascot, Sonic The Hedgehog, and spans countless titles both 2D and 3D featuring a variety of gameplay styles, as well as spinoff titles including racers, pinball, fighters, and even a party game.

Anyone else replaying the classic 16 bit Sonics in prep for 4?

So the announcement of a new 2D Sonic game got me hyped up. So today I downloaded both Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 off XBLA. I never really got that far in the original Sonic, and that remains true to this day. (Protip: The Marble Zone is an evil, evil place) Sonic 2 seems a lot easier so far, almost too easy at points, but I think there's just enough challenge to make it fun, plus at the Oil Ocean Zone things really start to heat up so I'm optimistic.  

So anyone else doing this?

Nope. Because I've played them so many times I don't think I can stomach playing through Metropolis zone again. We've also got at least 5 months until summer, so what's the rush?

Not really, but I'm probably going to go back and actually finish Sonic & Knuckles Collection eventually.

I beat the first two on the 360 (Arcade). I plan on getting 3 and Sonic & Knuckles soon.
