    Sonic the Hedgehog

    Franchise »

The Sonic series features the platforming legend and Sega's mascot, Sonic The Hedgehog, and spans countless titles both 2D and 3D featuring a variety of gameplay styles, as well as spinoff titles including racers, pinball, fighters, and even a party game.

Sonic Fan-Film is released and it's awesomely terrible.

If that was really Jaleel White voicing Sonic, god help us all.

According to the credits, it sure was!

A good fan (amateur) movie, but as most fan (amateur) movies the pacing is off (kind of boring at times; The intro never ended). I remember seeing a fan made resident evil video once. IT was very pulp fiction like. I think I liked that one. I never found it again. If anyone know where I can find it please tell :-)

I love how it looks like they filmed it in their backyard and an abandoned train yard, like they didnt want anyone to see them

I made through the first four minutes. I can't deal with this right now... But I will say that the guy playing Dr. Robotnik is way better than everything happening around him. He's the Raul Julia of this terrible videogame movie.

I'm deeply saddened by the fact that there are people invested enough in the Sonic "lore" to make something like this.

Production values are actually pretty good for a fan film, but that doesn't make this any less of a horrible idea. The guys making it also obviously have no idea how to make movies, which makes the budget it must have had an even more depressing thought.

I.....I mean....okay: I guess they have put a lot, and I mean a loooooooooot of work into this but man. A completly self-serious Sonic movie? Really? SONIC?

I rather enjoyed that. The Sonic CGI still needs a lot of work, and they need to say "Blue Blur" a lot less, and the scene with the GUN troops in a forest was awful (I could hear the plastic guns clicking ...) but for what it was it was great. The guy playing Robotnik shouldent be as good as he was though, they should have got someone a lot worse to blend in with the rest of the move. Though really if they were to re-do Sonic CGI and re-edit it to be quicker then it would be a fantastic fan-move, its already up there as great in my book.

Even as someone who was essentially raised on the Megadrive, I will never understand the devout following Sonic seems to have. I almost feel that franchise doesn't deserve fan's who put that much effort into a film.

When seeing Jaleel White's name in the credits, I immediately wondered if he was really that hard up for cash. After hearing his performance, whatever he was paid was probably too much.

Robotnik was great. The rest...eh, it's a fan-made film, and I can appreciate it on that level.

Why is it that every scene that Sonic is in is so much worse than the others?
I mean, the other scenes aren't amazing, but as soon as Sonic enters it just gets so terrible...

Well, now I know why SEGA isn't using Jaleel White for voice work. At least Robotnik was pretty good.

I fucking love Jaleel White. He just needed some... better lines.

I'll be honest with you, I didn't think that was the worst thing ever. The dialogue wasn't great (especially the Sonic lines), the acting was average (apart from Robotnik, who, while kinda silly, did a pretty good Robotnik), the music was pretentious and the pacing was awkward. But it was still a decent effort.

Really?  For me it's the opposite. youtube streaming is generally faster for me because the bitrate is lower, but on giantbomb, the bitrate is higher, and the videos look nicer, but I generally have to wait longer for it to buffer.
