The new Sonic... ?

Sega just brought out a new teaser. Like really it shows nothing.

Now- Call me crazy, but that:

doesn't look like Sonic. And call me even crazier, but I'm suddenly really interested in this game just cos it might not be Sonic.
I've just realised the URL say "project needle-mouse (working title)" in it. It looks like a Pikachu with a pirate hat on.
Are they finally doing it?

I have a confession to make.

I have never played a Sonic game. I have no interest in playing one. Nothing bores me more than news stories about new Sonic games or old Sonic games. And I'm in the age group that should probably care.

I also have a confession to make. The first and last sonic game I ever played was Sonic Adventures 2...and you know what...I thought it was awesome.

I've played Sonic 1, 2, a bit of 3, and a bit of the GBA one. I've completed one of em, but I don't know which one.

I've still got a Sonic 1 cartridge with TOM written on the cartridge, which I find pretty funny.

Sonic died a good while ago, I will never care for another game unless it's Sonic Adventure 3 and has an awesome Chao Garden.

its a 2D game most likely for ps3/360 wii etc.
i am lookin forward to more news about this, but GOD DAMNIT, TEAM SONIC SEEMS TO DO THIS TO ME EVERY YEAR.

how is it that the original sega genesis sonic games are still so awesome and yet team sonic has never been able to live up to those standards since??!?!

this whole 2D thing does give me hopes though! but i am not getting to excited.

Sonic Adventure 1&2 were awesome and the chao garden was a nice feature, anything after those games blew ass.

SEGA has the right idea, keep trying until sonic starts selling again. I'm down. *sega genisis+sonic, my first console and video game*.

Agree, I love Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 as well.

The only people who didn't like them are people who are overly nostalgic to the 2-D games. Hell, people are like that with Castlevania and Metroid.

Also, Sonic Unleashed was fun.

I liked Sonic Adventure 1 (haven't played 2 yet) And i'm a fan of the 2d, stuff of course.
I really hope they make a dynamic 2d sidescroller, Oh and include a new sonic spinball ! :)
