Sony is starting to come off very intelligent these days. PS3 has a great library now and with this price drop along with a new console design and a great new add campaign, that thing is going to be a huuuuge christmas item.

Im still confused...
- PS3: 151,783 150,743 (14,494.52%)
- DSi: 60,419 538 (0.90%)
- PSP: 22,184 3,897 (14.94%)
- Wii: 21,557 3,481 (13.90%)
- DS Lite: 8,309 1,005 (13.76%)
- Xbox 360: 6,827 427 (5.89%)
- PS2: 3,001 178 (5.60%)
As you can see the chart shows it that stuff on the right is the current sales, stuff on the left is past week or month sales....yet it shows that ps3 sales went up...by the green arrow yet the sales on the left are 151k and the sales on the right at 150k...so it went down....yet the arrow is point up!!!! >_<
then you have 538 sales in jpn for DSi? and the week before it was 60k? huh?! and thats only a 0.90% sales increase *though thats a sales decrease...* 'im confused!!!
Okay im gonna ignore joystiqs faulty chart and just use mediacreates.

Left is current sales, Right is gain/loss over the previous period and the percent.
Left minus right is the previous month's sales. Which was 1k (July) as apposed to 151k for the current month's total (August).
They model their charts closely to how stock is usually posted.

How does this have any baring on how it's doing here. PS3 has always done better in japan, big whoop. It's not hard to out sell yourself when you sold like a 1000 the week before.

If left is current sales, and right is past sales, why is 427 to 6,827 considered a loss by that list?
the same for ps2? and Wii and Psp?
the joystiq table is fucked up.
OR the case of the DSi

150k last week or month to 151k this week or this month is a 14k% increase.
538 last week to 60k this week is considered only a 0.90% increase....
Last weeks 3k to this weeks 22k is considerd a decrease of 14.94%
Wii's 3k to 21K is considered a 13.90% decrease....
My whole point is that the joystiq list sucks and it confuses me.

I'd like to see some numbers, actually. Most Apple products sell fairly well year-round. The iPod is actually the best selling consumer electronics device ever. Say it only sells 20,000 one week. It would need to sell over 2.9 million the following week for that kind of growth." @trophyhunter said:

Releasing a smaller better PS3 and cutting the prices was a smart thing afterall. Not that I doubted it before.

what the fuck is wrong with you, its fucking simple
Left: this weeks sales
Right: How much MORE or LESS it sold than last week . The arrow says if it is more or less.
" Doesn't a 14,000% increase just mean that PS3 was selling poorly for a long time? "This.
It is easy to get a big percentage increase when operating form a low base. They are good numbers, don't get me wrong, but it only reinforces how poorly the sales have been (largely due to shortages and people holding off). I don't think anyone should excited for a couple of months when we see what a consistent baseline the PS3 is achieving.
