Perhaps this will come out on the next Nintendo console?

Yohohow,

Seeing as Nintendo is most likely going to announce a console with power comparable to the PS3 and Xbox 360 what would you say are the chances of this coming to the next Nintendo console?
Of all three Soul Calibur 2 versions the GameCube one did the best.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I would be so happy to see Link as a guest character again, he fit in so well in Soul Calibur 2 in my oppinion :P

You are not alone, Link in Soul Calibur 2 was swag. I think there is a good chance it will be on the new Nintendo console but I don't expect to see Link return, I'm not sure they will do three console exclusives like that again and if they do they will switch it up.

I played the shit out of SCII on the Gamecube, and while I think it would be cool for the series to come to Nintendo consoles again I don't think I would buy that version if only because of the crippled online functionality.

To be fair, we don't know what form the new console's online functionality will take.  Granted, it might not be PSN or Xbox Live in terms of its breadth, but if the 3DS is any indication, it will be a far cry better than what the Wii offers.

Well the official unvieling is in june, witha rumoured late 2012 release. and since Soul calibur V is currently only 10% complete their lauch seems to line up close enough.

Highly doubt it. If the system proves to be a good seller for third party "hardcore" titles, you might see the next-next SC game appear on it, but for now I would say that Namco has no way of knowing that a project cafe port would be worth their time or money, while they can be sure of large sales on both the xbox and ps3. Those two are safe bets, they know millions of their audience exist there; On Nintendo's new thing, they have no clue.
