Great game, but story will piss you off
I think I may have broken my controller during this HORRIBLE story mode. What happened SC? The last decent story had been on part two, and now here you are just throwing a bunch of bullshit together, and calling it a 'Story'? okay let's go into detail why the story sucks. You start off as this 'guy' that I've personally never seen before. During the story this guy switches moves at least three times; so the ability to learn his moves are completely out the window. (The guy; is the one on the front cover of the game) It is better than the lame excuse Tekken brought to the table in Tekken 6, but not by much. It's like they had a cake made of shit, and said hmmm.. Screw all them good ones over there, let's take pieces of the shit cake (characters in story mode) and throw it into a generic story line, and BOOM! Story complete.
I really hate to give a game like Soul Caliber a bad review, so let's just act like the story mode didn't happen. The online play, and arcade are perfect. They are exactly what you would expect out of this game. You can keep track of 'rivals' that you personally set-up in the online community. This was a nice addition that I think more games should come with. You can make your own 'rooms' and watch other players (in your room that hold 6 max) until it's your turn. I also think this is fun, and a great addition. If you win you go on to fight the next person in line, but if you loose then you go to the bottom of the list. Ranks are also back in the online play. This may be a little old, and not very updated from the last one, but it is still once again a welcome addition.
The create a character is lagging a lot from when you first turn on the game, but I do "believe" that as you progress you unlock new items for your created character.
