Hello there I just wanted to say that I noticed jeff hated on the game during the Quicklook but the game look very awsome watching it on youtube. the same thing happened to me with uncharted 2 i watched on youtube first then I bought it to find it's not that awsome as it was on the youtube vidoes. after hours and hours of trying to figure out why Games look better on youtube i found it but not sure that the encoding makes games look awsome.

I know am not alone in this I read some comment saying spec ops the line is very good looking in the quicklook comments while jeff is hating it.

please get involved in this because if we figure out how we make games look awsome it will be a revolution.

Maybe the key difference is that you watch videos on your PC monitor and play games on your TV?

It's a conspiracy, YouTube makes bad games look good to fool you into buying them. The quicker this is stopped the better, its ruining the games industry just like used games sales are.

Yeah when video games are compressed and not run natively they look better. #sarcarsm lol

nice jokes everyone, but think about it SPEC OPS the LINE as jeff said have very bad graphics but as I noticed recently games look better and feel better when they are posted on youtube for FREE. while you can spend millions and millions on a game just to make it look better while it looks just more awsome on fucking YOUTUBE.

think about it and try to compare your recoreded video of a certain game and the actual gameplay for some reason it gets better ..many people said the game doesn't look bad in the QUICKLOOK of SPEC OPS while jeff just trashed it.

I hope you know what am talking about

#12 Posted by Megalibra (19 posts) -

even with pc games the feel is different when it's posted and yeah you can't believe how a flash media with 30fps on youtube make a better feel than the origanl gameplay.

I couldn't believe it the first time but it just happens it's werid but it's true. It's noticable with fast motion of the camera and fast focus of the camera.

try to notice how the camera moves espcially in spec ops the line and you will know what difference am talking about.

#13 Posted by CaLe (4018 posts) -

Games look better when I imagine them in my head than they do on youtube. If we figure out how to transfer my thoughts into video it would be a revolution.

I've never seen a Youtube video look better than the actual game... Unless the game is so ugly that the Youtube compression just helps hide that a little.

#20 Posted by Megalibra (19 posts) -

it's in the encoding something in the encoding make fast movement more of an eyecandy just like when you TAKE COVER the camera zoom in and out in a very nice way on youtube. while if i try to get the same camera motion in real gameplay it doesnt feel that epci.

encoding or compression or whatever it is make camera and fast motion more epic that;s all am saying.

maybe the textures are not the best but movement wise it far faaaaaaaaaar more better.

@canucks23 The fact is YouTube videos even 720p ones still look shitty because their compression encoding is garbage.
#25 Posted by CornBREDX (5619 posts) -

I feel you don't know what you're talking about. You should probably stop talking about this.

Compression makes things look worse- from a technical standpoint. If it doesn't to you, that's a cool mental state sometimes I wish I had haha. I mean I'm not a graphics whore, but some games do look awful (in video or real time).
Anyway, saying games look better in video (on youtube- as if that matters) as a fact is nonsense.

That's why people are making jokes- this thread is nonsense.

Maybe your system is set to 1080i? That could make the movement look less epic.

In a serious response; yo dawg it's because it's a film and not in real time. No matter what you are watching, even if it's from real time at a lower frame rate, it will look better as a video file (compression notwithstanding).

In a non serious response; lol.

It's probably because the amount of pixels per inch in your monitor is a lot more than your tv so everything looks crisp and brighter on your monitor, especially if you have a CRT or something crazy. Buy an HDMI to VGA adapter for your monitor and play your console games on it. Problem solved.

Oh next you're going to talk to me about how a mostly static image would reduce the macro blocking in an image and how the bitrate affects the density of change elements like an extremely high quality video of fire cos' of natural fractals... I fucking love natural fractals.

Yah, this is how I have my set up. Not the CRT, but the HDMI to VGA.

I don't know if the guy is a troll, but if you aren't, I felt the same way. The game didn't look that bad in some parts, it looked generic, and brown. but not that ugly.

HDMI to VGA? I don't understand. Will you still get an HD signal? I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to cables and shit. Can those cables be used for an LED/LCD TV?

#37 Posted by supamon (1333 posts) -

Either OP is high/trolling or he thinks he can watch HD on his CRT. Damn I miss crouchingspocky.

#38 Posted by mscupcakes (612 posts) -

@Napalm: Yeah, HDMI and VGA are pretty similar, you'll just have to connect your speakers to the console directly. I just used my headset when I had this setup.

There's a 2mm jack or whatever for headphones that I use secondary logitech speakers for, so that shouldn't be an issue. I don't think, at least...

If you have a TV that uses HDMI, you do not need a HDMI to VGA cable. I just realized I use a HDMI to DVI. No a HDMI to VGA would not be digital. My HDMI to DVI is. I use mine because I have my Xbox connected to the same monitor my computer is connected to.

I watched a YouTube clip of natural fractals and man, let me tell you. So much better than this shitty game about natural fractals I played.

Hey guys maybe this is his way of hyping us to the new Nintendo Revolution console. What ever happened to that one? How come no one talks about Spec Ops the Line as a launch title for the Revolution? Discuss.

#49 Posted by Megalibra (19 posts) -

fucking asshoeles can't notcie shit. keep on trolling ...you know what you didn't ask yourself why i bother put myself in this situation if I was not right or slightly right.

I know what am talking about and I know what am noticing, if the game was TOTALLY better on the TVs I would not post such craaap. But there is something different when games are recorded and posted I don't know the specifics of it but i know how it's different.

keep on trolling and avoid any debate which may result in something good. fucking losers and a waste of time.
