No to both.

It's a great game, but it's absolutely nothing like Windjammers. I don't know where you got that from.

It's like Mario Kart, if Mario Kart were a 2D platformer where you win by getting ahead of players enough that they touch the edge of the screen which eliminates them.

So in that respect, it is nothing like Windjammers.

Closest thing that comes to mind is N+ but its race format instead.
