Follow Spy Fox in his second adventure in which he trys to foil the plans of the evil organization S.M.E.L.L.Y.
Storyline
Napoleon LeRoach is working for the evil organization Society of Meaningless Evil, Larceny, Lying and Yelling (S.M.E.L.L.Y.), and has built an Evil Dogbot and placed it in the middle of the World's Fair, ready to destroy everything in its path. As soon as the one millionth customer comes through the turnstile, the Dogbot will be fully activated. Spy Corps send the famous Spy Fox to investigate further and try and stop his fiendish plan. LeRoach tells Spy Fox he is doing this to get revenge on children who laughed at him when he was younger and unable to get into the World's Fair due to his height. Spy Fox must then find the off switch for the Dogbot and find out the activation code before it is too late.Paths and endings
Much like other Spy Fox games, Some Assembly Required features different game paths that are randomly selected whenever you start a brand new game. Each path has you solving two different core puzzles, and the characters and situations you find yourself in will change. There is also a bonus ending that can be accessed if the player clicks at the correct moment.Paths
- Key Replicator - Spy Fox needs to enter Wee World to drop Walter Wireless in, but the door is being guarded and can only be entered if Spy Fox has the correct key. There are six keys hanging on the wall outside of Wee World, and Spy Fox needs to use his logic to decide which one he needs, and then use a gadget to make a replica of the correct key.
- Venus Flytrap - LeRoach has hidden the off switch for the Dogbot somewhere in the World's Fair, and so Spy Fox must track it down. It turns out that it has been fed to a Venus Flytrap and delivered to Madame Ladybug instead of a red rose. Ladybug says Spy Fox can have the Venus Flytrap if he can find out the combination code for the cage that it is in.
- Alarm Deactivator - Spy Fox needs to drop the tracking bug Walter Wireless inside Wee World, however whenever he tries to do this the alarms go off and he gets kicked out. Spy Fox collects a gadget from Professor Quack and uses this to stop the alarm going off.
- Restruct & Destruct-o-lux - Spy Fox needs to collect the molecules for the off switch from the Destruct-o-lux and reconstruct them in the Restruct-o-lux, as well as find out the correct code. Doing all of this will enable him to turn off LeRoach's evil Dogbot, which he plans to destroy the World's Fair with.
Bonus Ending
When Spy Fox deactivates the Dogbot, Napoleon LeRoach makes a quick escape. Spy Fox chases him down a street, but LeRoach jumps down a manhole. If the player clicks the manhole at the right moment, Spy Fox will follow him down into the sewer, and discovers LeRoach planning a revenge attack by using his computer program. However, the program has a bug, giving Spy Fox enough time to figure out a way to send LeRoach to Spy Jail via the sewer pipes.Trivia
- Napoleon LeRoach is a clear parody of Napoleon I of France, which you can tell from the name and the height of the character.
- The cook in the Chateau LeRoach restaurant is very reminiscent of Julia Child, an American TV chef.
- The voice actor for Spy Fox has worked on other titles such as Star Fox Assault and Halo: Combat Evolved.
- The anthropomorphic sheep characters Doll and Lee are a reference to the first cloned sheep, Dolly.
- A six-foot interactive talking standee of Spy Fox was placed in all Loews Cineplex Entertainment (now AMC Theatres) cinemas as part of a promotional feature.
