Looks kinda awesome to me. Sorta reminds me of Messiah with the whole "possession" bit.

No PC. >=(

#3 Posted by Ghostiet (5264 posts) -

Damn, I always thought no one knew about Messiah.

#4 Posted by cstrang (2381 posts) -

Meh.  I wasn't as impressed with Costume Quest as I would have like to have been, but this game seems like it would appeal to me even less...  Maybe after some reviews.

I'm not sold on the idea. I would say that I trust Schaefer and Co. to make it work, but gameplay isn't really their strong point.

However, as always, I reserve judgment until release.

@Ghostiet: Dude, Messiah was awesome! Shiny FTW!

Looks fun! I like the art style a lot.

I like the style, but I'm still not sure how the gameplay actually works... =/

This, i can remember it being a pain in the balls at times though - cant remember if that was due to bugs or annoying puzzles.

The gun that fired harpoons was awesome though.

Haha, that was... charming. Looking forward to it.

#12 Posted by jonnyboy (2920 posts) -

I expect it to be quirky, interesting and charming. I also expect it to sell fuck all. I hope I'm wrong about one of these.

#13 Posted by George_Hukas (1317 posts) -

I don't get it but it looks sexy!

#14 Posted by VilhelmNielsen (1735 posts) -

Damn, that looks awesome!

#15 Edited by neoepoch (1295 posts) -

...It's a puzzle/adventure. What's not to get? You play as the smallest of these Russian stacking dolls and you can take control of them as long as you are inside them. You use this power and each of the dolls unique abilities in order to advance in levels.

Its kinda fucked that they're back to making adventure games and aren't doing a PC version. Maybe IGN just stupidly forgot to mention that version.

#17 Posted by crusader8463 (14422 posts) -

But will it have Jack Black?

#18 Posted by HubrisRanger (489 posts) -

The olde DF continues to prove that it is a collective of creative individuals that are interested in making games unlike everything else.

#19 Posted by JackSukeru (5911 posts) -

What the double you tea F was that!?

#20 Posted by Redbullet685 (6044 posts) -

That looks cool.

#21 Posted by AhmadMetallic (18955 posts) -

i thought Tim Schafer's last 2 games didnt sell well ?
how can he keep trying? quite impressive

#22 Posted by ryanwho (12082 posts) -

Downloadables have a much lower bar for success. You can't look at Costume Quest's numbers and compare them to a retail game that costs 10 times as much to make.

#23 Posted by GlenTennis (3145 posts) -

That actually looks kinda neat.

Matryoshka dolls. Interesting concept, still i don't find it very enticing.

Too bad too many people pirate for there to be a PC version, but I expect great things.

I'm glad you feel comfortable speaking on behalf of a development team that you're not a part of. We need more people who think they're industry insiders making shit up.

@Ahmad_Metallic: I'm guessing Double Fine's commercial failures is the primary reason for Stacking and Clothing Party (or Costume Quest... whatever it's called).  Smaller downloadable games are require less investment and don't need to sell millions like retail games to be considered financially successful.
#29 Posted by TheMaxMeister (78 posts) -

Looks great, but if there's no PC version, I'll probably end up never playing it.

#30 Posted by Diamond (8634 posts) -

The concept and design look amazing.  I'm already super hyped for the game.

#31 Posted by Landon (4143 posts) -

I think it looks cool.

#32 Posted by captain_clayman (3321 posts) -

need to see more before i...even know what the hell this is.

#33 Posted by Meltac (2002 posts) -

Why no PC :( It sounds, and looks like a great game.

I like your icon.

And that is the reason a lot of people aren't putting their games on the PC - pirates..... arrrrr.
#35 Posted by Vodun (2370 posts) -
@demontium: I would think the uncertainty factor of the end user's hardware is somewhat impactful as well. A 360 is a 360 and a PS3 is a PS3...a PC is...random

Messiah had lots and lots of bugs, but it was a cool game.
#37 Posted by Jolt92 (1551 posts) -

I will buy!

Looks pretty cool actually. Go Double Fine!

@Soulderon: Let's be cliché and call it an unpolished gem =P

I dont know what I just saw but I just have one question...Can I fuck it?

#41 Posted by Raymayne (1226 posts) -

Woo consoles only, thank God they're focusing on making it for controllers.

#42 Posted by Vodun (2370 posts) -
@Soulderon: Agreed, made you feel more angelic =D
#43 Posted by Gamer_152 (14077 posts) -

I like what I'm seeing. It's refreshing how different Double Fine manage to make all of their games.

It's pretty fresh concept and I'm liking the art style. I loved Costume Quest's quirk so I think this is for me. Any details on price yet?

Well I'm sure it would look awesome if I was drunk.
