    S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl is a First-Person-Shooter with many Role Playing elements. It's set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone after a second fictional explosion in the not too distant future. It is known for its atmosphere and relatively difficult gameplay.

    Thinking about buying STALKER off of Steam.  I'm worried, though, because I want to check out mods / patches and that was a bitch with Steam-downloaded Rome:Total War.  Anyone know if this is an issue here?  Should I just buy a box?

    I downloaded the Oblivion Lost Mod and it worked fine with my Steam version of STALKER. The game itself has some minor bugs still, but doesn't take away from the gameplay.
