I'm probably about half way through. The characters are annoying as hell, but they grow on you I guess. The combat is fun, but incredibly easy for the first half of the game. And by first half of the game, I mean like over 30 hours in on the second disk. It just got a little more interesting for me after fighting a more challenging boss (Still haven't seen a game over screen yet though). The whole game is a bit ridiculous. If you don't mind grinding like hell, this game seems playable.

Maybe not for you, but I couldn't get off the first disc without returning the game. Game is too easy (combat wise), boring, and achievements are come along every now and then. :(

Edge Maverick's name is almost as bad as Rush Sykes.

Whats funny is if any one has played star ocean before this is pretty much PAR in course for the franchise.

I actually liked Till the end of Time, one of the few who did probably. I think this game is a major downgrade from that, especially in terms of story and characters. I still think this game has something to it though. The craziness of the combat is just awesome sometimes, just only if it wasn't so damn easy for the first disk.

It doesn't get any harder during the main game. The bonus dungeons get a little more difficult.

I heard this game has a bunch of retardedly funny dialogue like Persona 4.....

....Theres your next Endurance Run if so. It's already a JRPG to boot. Grinding episodes would probably be more interesting since battles are more hands on.

The game is pretty great, nowhere near terrible.  Best 360 JRPG IMO.  The dialog is extremely bad though.  Persona 4 is really well written and acted compared to SO4's story.

Doesnt sound like anything to make me want to jump on the Star Ocean bandwagon now.

Ok, I've finally finished it. You're right about it not getting much harder. I had to use a few fresh sage, but that's about it. I was hoping it would get harder, since that's what happened in the last game, but it doesn't really. I still think it's not a bad game, but it could have been better.
