For now it's custom gear, until Legend promotes me or makes the uniform official and fixes the ranks :P

ah right sweet, if it becomes official will that mean our own characters will sport the colors or is it like the guild tabbard in WOW, where a small nominal fee will buy us the outfit

Not actually sure. I think it might use up the actual fleet outfit slot that you get when you join a fleet. It should be free since that slot itself you get is free.

I got an invite no problem once people came back during the F2P livestream, but ever since then I'm still at Softshell. Sent a note to Jeff about helping out, but they're drowning in PMs and he was deep into the Trackmania server... Would appreciate a bump to a regular member who can invite, and once classes calm down a little I'll be on more often to level up this new F2P character (Wox@Brackynews). He's a dapper and spindly fellow.

In my main's fleet (Proteus) I am a rank 5 officer responsible for banking and crafting, so I've been spending most of my game time there being useful. ;) The fleet leader would be happy to vouch for me if that's of any benefit later on. Cheers.

How active is the fleet? I am thinking I'll ditch the crew I am with at the moment. I have been with em for about a year but it's turning into a troll-fest.

I've always seen at least 3 to 4 people online whenever I log in. I was playing a few minutes ago and decided to turn it off after I kept getting killed in the Sharien's Swords mission. That damn I.R.W Esemar keeps killing me with it's Super Torpedo combo >_<

After I was done with the ground mission on the station I thought it would be easy, but man, I must've died 7 times by that thing. No matter how much I widdle it down it'll do that tractor beam/shield drain thing and then demolish me with those three torpedoes. It's frustrating when the auto-attack doesn't let me attack the incoming torpedoes because it's still attacking the ship.

Could I get a fleet invite? Welshy@clevver (that's two v's, btw). I've been getting way into this game for some reason and I want to see if we can get a starbase rolling.

Any officer lobsters still playing relatively regularly? My wife and I want to start doing stuff with the starbase, but, as Softshells, all we can do is stand in the main concourse and admire the view. :) (I'm Buzzkill Hanrow, and she's Cameron.)

The Season 6 trailer has convinced me to download the game.  Haven't played since beta, be gentle.

How is the new fleet stuff? I haven't played since any of the season 6 stuff was added, but I might be convinced to finally join a fleet if there's actually some purpose to it now.

I was reading the official forums, but they seem to do nothing but complain about lock boxes over there.

So I heard through the grapevine that someone had stolen everything from the fleet bank and the fleet has broken up.  Is that true?

@Arrested_Developer: My wife's online now, and there's still a fleet and there's still stuff in the fleet bank. I haven't been able to reach an officer though since we were invited in a couple of weeks ago.

I think it was Mike Horne. Those Hornes, man, they're very sneaky.

@Arrested_Developer: I never saw anything happen when it happened, but Cryptic has been really good about restoring banks, due to the account hacking by gold farmers. I don't know if that's actually what happened in SNL's case with "Mike" but I do know there are fleet leaders who had their accounts hacked and everything stolen. With the new security it shouldn't be as much of an risk. Without knowing the situation, I think any 2010-2011 massive theft should be given the benefit of the doubt; hacking was rampant and Cryptic was clueless.

@WinterSnowblind: I like it. They launched the season broken of course, but it's looking better now. Give it 2-3 more months. lol "Purpose" is relative, it's a resource sink, so you need to want the benefits that a starbase will offer, which will not be superior to DS9 or ESD. The way the system is designed, it is entirely possible to fleet hop to buy higher tier items.

So does the crew still exist? I logged in and wasn't a part of it any more, and I couldn't find it in the fleet search, but I seem to remember that thing never really worked that well.
