I'll be there. The ship combat is good, there's a lot of customisation and a lot to like, if you're a Star Trek fan.

It has a lot of flaws, but.. it's still better than Old Republic, in my opinion.

I'll try it eventually, but there's no rush. The bright side is that it will probably make some money for them now.

I'll probably check it out when it goes free. I was in the beta and thought it seemed interesting enough; not great, but, sort of cool. I didn't really have the time or money when it came out though so I pretty much just skipped over it. Free to play though, might as well check it out again.

Huh, if early-access is available, I might jump in again; I played for a month or two at release. I'd only stay in if I had other friends also jumping in, too. Ground combat was...meh, but there's nothing like being in a space death-flotilla with friends.

I still have no interest in this game, but I might check it out if I get bored and have nothing to play someday.

Early access has begun for those who already have an STO account, everyone else gets theirs on the 17th.

Anyone planning to jump back in? I'm considering revisiting the game for a few days before the inevitable influx of new players.

So all I have to do is download the game and play with my account I used in 2010?

I've been wanting to play it again. I've heard they have changed the ground combat which was pretty bad before.

I've been wondering this too, I might re-download and just do space battle stuff, when I get the right ship. Might have to check out the re-worked ground combat too.

not sure i understand the concept of an MMO that already exists giving players who are paying early access to a free version.

they stop accepting their credit cards?

I played for a few hours last night and it seems like they've made a large number of positive changes. The smaller initial install was welcome (they now stream out the content as/when you need it) and the redesigned interiors of space-stations are great. You can actually navigate them without pulling up the area map every few seconds now! We live in an age of miracles.

Are people still having issues finding Sulu? :)

Anyone who has paid for STO in the past gets early access. This includes people who are currently paying.

If Perry and Intern Daniel still do their F2P videos, it'd be cool to see the differences between beta and now.

Or even better if Jeff did another quicklook with his life-time account.

More proof that the subscription model does not work. Anyway I might try it.
