Overview

Star Wars: Battlefront mimics the classic Battlefield series in that it puts players in large scale battles that combine infantry with vehicle combat. Like the Battlefield series, it uses a rigid class system for the infantry classes and combines employs a number of vehicles in every map. On the PC, over 64 players can play on a single map with 32 players on xbox live and 16 players on the PS2. On certain maps jedi heroes can accompany the infantry units. These jedi are NPC's and are relatively invincible. Other NPC's that are involved int he game include Jawas, Ewoks, Tusken Raiders, Gungans, Geonosians, and Wookies. The game combines a relatively lackluster single player campaign that uses the same skirmish battle system used in multiplayer with bots added in. Players travel through the various battles in the Star Wars universe with cutscenes from the movies accompanying many of the missions.
