Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed was the first expansion to Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.

The expansion provided space exploration and combat to the already existing ground-based gameplay. Other new features included in the expansion were as follows:

    • Can create characters of the Sullustan and Ithorian species.
    • Players are able to choose one of three piloting professions, each one based on the character's Galactic Civil War faction—Rebel, Imperial, or Freelance.
    • Players can customize, and pilot ships in 10 different space sectors: Tatooine, Naboo, Corellia, Dantooine, Kashyyyk, Yavin, Endor, Dathomir, Kessel, and Deep Space.
    • 100 new missions.

    Gameplay

The piloting profession was separate from the character's ground profession. However, earning experience points in space would grant the player experience points toward a ground combat profession.

Each space sector is a cube 16 kilometers on a side and contains at least one of the ten ground planets, except Kessel and Deep Space, which are for players who are more advanced in their piloting profession. The Rage of the Wookiees included the Kashyyyk space sector.

    Customisation

As characters level up in their piloting professions, they’re able to access a broader range of tactics, starship chassis, and starship components. Ships are customizable with components looted from enemies or crafted by shipwrights.

Once a player has mastered a piloting profession, they gain access to Player on Board (PoB) ship designs. These ship designs allow players to walk around ship interiors (which can be decorated) and man shipboard turrets.

Customers who pre-ordered the expansion received a limited-edition Flash Speeder as a untradeable player mount.
