I'm still picking this up. I loved the hell out of the first game and there is no way I could pass this one up.
... just not right now because I have SO many games to play :D
It's hard to impress EVERYONE when it comes to beloved franchises. People have in their heads their own idea of what a game should be like, and it's impossible for developers to keep up with that.
Meh, a lot of people had a bunch of complaints about the first game too and I still loved it. Definitely will get it at some point, don't have enough money right now.
I liked the first game, thought it was really fun. It's not perfect, it's not great. It's an okay game. And from the demo it seems like it's still okay but with some refinement. It's only 6 hours so that's awesome, short game I can blow through in one sitting on friday.
After playing the demo, I'm not so surprised. The first game was a mediocre exercise, and didn't live up to it's potential. The sequel repeats the same mistakes again. LucasArts used to create and publish a lot of fine Star Wars games. Heck, I remember a time they used to create inventive and clever Adventures games that didn't take place around the Star Wars universe. In this gen, LucasArts have succumb to the Dark Side.
The game was a decent afternoon passer. That is all it was good for to me. I rent from gamefly and I don't plan on doing a second playthrough with it. It's not terrible but could have been much better. Give it a rent.
