-I- Liked It
I've always been a bit of Star Wars nut and this game does has it's fun and over-the-top moments. The one part of the game I cannot overlook are the damn boss battles though. The gameplay as a whole is pretty balanced out and the flow of playing through the game (a few trick-ups here and there aside) the game is a fun one to sit down and blow through except for the damn bosses. When the 2nd boss of the game is so impossibly hard to beat that it makes you want to throw the game in the garbage... -THAT- should tell you something.
Aside from looking up a walkthrough online (which shouldn't have to be done for -ANY- game) that is my one beef with this game. The rest of the game is fun throughout and being given a "shadow plot" which drives the game makes it a bit of nerd-joygasm for fans who really appreciate that kind of thing. The graphics are pretty smooth, textured, and well done which is always a plus. The Force abilities are fun once they're upgraded and bit and with a little practice the combos can be absolutely devastating.
The story and locations are fun and interesting for fans who have heard/know of them from previous Star Wars knowledge and getting to see them first hand are another nugget of awesomeness this game provides. All things considered, Starkiller is a cool, haunted kind of character that seems to belong in a story such as this. The idea of a secret apprentice is a cool one and in terms of the story make it interesting to see how the story unfolds the further you get.
I'd say if you see this game in a $10 or less bin somewhere it's worth a shot.
