can anyone answer if i am grouped with someone and we are grinding quests does it do the same conversation mechanic it does in flashpoints with the rolls?

You can start a conversation on your own or with your partner, then it follows standard flashpoint rules.
Only works for outside quests I believe, you have no say in your partner's story.

I think the only difference is you can't holocom into conversations in flashpoints but you can everywhere else.

sorry, what do you mean by holocom? i noticed one in my ship but couldnt figure out how to use it.

Whenever one of your party members engages in a conversation that you would be able to join but you're not close enough an option will appear for you to take part in the conversation as a hologram.
