Early Access - You Got In Already?
I fully expected to be in the first wave of invites, having preordered my preorder box right after the SDCC announcement and redeemed the code immediately. However, I'm not and that's okay. Just curious on who got in already? When did you guys get your preorders and when did you redeem it?
So - off to doing a workout and laundry and grocery shopping, so my body will be ready for SW:TOR early access (which really should happen for me today) and Back 2 Karkand, which definitely hits me at 20:00 CET. Full day ahead of me.
It's not starting for another 12 minutes so this should be 100% no. Right?
What if I answer no now and tomorrow I get in?
At the very beginning of pre-orders, which started on July 21st, we had a massive influx of pre-orders. A huge spike. After that, things settled down. As a result, today especially, you're going to see a fairly narrow band of dates from those admitted to Early Game Access. From tomorrow, it'll spread out to a wider date range.
After visiting the official boards, it sounds like things are a mess right now regarding who is and who isn't getting into the Early Access portion of the game; surprise. For the most part, those who preordered from around July 21st to July 24th are saying that they're in the Early Access, with some people farther off than that also saying they're in. But there's a pretty substantial influx of people who claim to have preordered and redeemed their code on the 21st who can still not get in.
As someone who did not redeem his code until the 27th, I'm doubtful I'll see SWTOR today, but I'm still holding out hope.
I didn't preorder till October so as long as I get in by Friday, I will be very happy. Got a friend who entered his code on day two of preorders and he hasn't gotten a email yet. I really expect today and the first half of tomorrow to be slowly sending out emails. All in all, I just happy that its finally started.

You guys on a digital pre-order on Origin? Or a physical pre-order box like me?
Physical Collector's Edition copy. Redeemed my pre-order code July 21st.

It looks like I'm in, but I'm at work so I can't be sure.
I don't even know if I'm going to play since my time is limited and I want to beat Gears 3 and Uncharted 3, and get my feet wet in Revelations, before the year is out.
Here's the official statement from their Senior Community Manager regarding how invites work and where they're at currently:
Hey everyone, good morning and welcome to the first day of Early Game Access for Star Wars: The Old Republic!
We're granting access based solely on when people's pre-orders were redeemed, and we're going to be granting it in 'waves' - large batches of emails and game entitlements that will go out over the course of today (and tomorrow, and the next day, and so on).
I'll be updating this thread (and this post) as we send out more 'waves' of invites.
So far today, we have sent out two 'waves' of invites; we will be sending more later on, but I cannot be specific on timing. (Why? Because as we invite each wave, we monitor to see how servers are performing and so on. If everything is good, we'll send a 'wave' earlier; we in fact sent 'wave 2' ahead of schedule. So cross your fingers.)
Now, to the question you all have: when will you be invited? Well, I cannot be specific to individuals or even to dates, because again, we have to remain flexible. That said, I can talk a little about the pattern of pre-orders.

That's about as specific as we're going to get right now. However, as we send more waves I'll update this thread/post with more information. Thanks for your patience - we know it's been a long road, but you'll be playing before too long.
It also appears, via the SWTOR Facebook page, that waves of invites will be sent out every 2 hours currently. That taken alongside the official statement regarding their process for invites, as long as servers remain steady and no problems arise, this appears to be the schedule of invites, every 2 hours.
@Captain_Felafel: So far it's been every 1h30 :( I pre-ordered so late so I'm not really expecting to get in today :'(
Not yet. I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition and redeemed the code on July 30, so hopefully I get in later today sometime.
Peva of the Yogscast got in, watching the livestream right now. Doesn't look great, what on Earth is this art style all about?
Been in since the first wave at 12pm GMT (five hours ago in whatever timezones apply!), leveling up my Smuggler. Loving it so far!
I'm in. Played a bit with my Jedi and Trooper.
Already want to punch the collective community in the back of the head. Game's running fine though, not had any lag or anything.

@Seppli: A lot of inquisitors apparently, at least on live streams and all.
I just find playing the Empire side much more appealing, since it's much more of an unknown quantitiy. Sith culture. I expect lots of grey area decisions somewhere between neutral and chaotic evil. Jedis are all-played-out. And I really want to zapp me some folks and get the cute Jawa companion. I also wanna dabble a bit in healing and dd caster speccs, since I usually go for more physical classes.
Guess I'm not alone in this.
Oh - I'm on 'Field of Nightmares'. PvE UK server I believe. Check me out some Brits instead of the eversame German crowd. I hope they're as delightful as their TV shows.
...and I'm finally done with my chores, maintained my muscle tone, and all clean and fed. Time to get my inner Sith on. Before a late night of Back 2 Karkand. Life is good today. A tad bit too rich in the giving, but I can live with that.
I get those about once a month, so, no, I wouldn't say that at all.Funny how Blizzard sent me a 7 day free pass today. Guess they're getting seriously nervous for the first time years.

Shit, the official forums are just sad to go through. People have literally 0 patience at all.
Just took a quick look. Wow. It seems everyone wanted to be in the first wave when they knew full well that wasn't going to happen.
