Welcome to the eleventh Giant Bomb US community Starcraft II tournament!

It's been awhile since there's been a tournament and VicRamen asked me to host another one, so you can thank him for this one. Also, I'm sorry there haven't been any new EU tournaments yet(for the EU players reading this) but I promise I'll host another EU tourney for you guys soon.

This tournament is open to players of all skill levels and you're welcome to come spectate even if you're not participating.

Rules:

- The tournament will be played in a double elimination format. This means you'll have to lose twice in order to be eliminated.

- The semi-final(Losers's bracket and Winner's bracket) and final matches will be played as a Best-of-3.

- If a player drops from a match, he may request a rematch, assuming the match was relatively even.

- No cheating or use of exploits is allowed.

- Spectating other people's matches is allowed, assuming you don't have to play a match yourself. But please be courteous enough to leave if a player experiences lag due to a large number of spectators.

• Abyssal Caverns
• Shakuras Plateau
• Tal'Darim Altar LE
• The Shattered Temple
• Typhon Peaks

+ Map to play on will be determined by elimination. Each player will eliminate one map each until only one map remains to play on. (You can also just come to a consensus together on which map you want to play on)

+ In the Best-of-3's in the semi-final and final the loser gets to pick the map after the first game.

Official sign-ups will be done via the Challonge website on the day of the tournament itself. This is done to eliminate people who sign up a week ahead of time and then never show up. You'll have the ability to sign up officially until the starting time of the tournament(listed below). You will need a Challonge account to sign up. (also below)

If you want to join, please post your desire to do so in this thread, it'll get me some idea of how many people I should be expecting.

You also need anUS Battle.net accountin order to participate. (Or a time pass in case you're from Europe and don't have a US account)

I´m also making it a requirement for everyone to sign up using their own Challonge account. The advantage of this is that you´ll be able to report the outcome of your matches yourself, rather than waiting for me to update the brackets.

When:

The tournament is going to start on Saturday September 17th, 12:30PM CDT(Central US), 1:30PM EST(East Coast US), 10:30AM PDT(Pacific Coast US), 19:30PM CEST(Central Europe)

If you're not sure about the timezones, check here. (Also let me know if I made a mistake)

Sign-ups will be open until 12:30PM CDT / 1:30PM EST / 10:30AM PDT / 19:30PM CEST. This means you should arrive/sign up before those times, otherwise you won't be included in the bracket and won't be able to participate. Signing up will only take a minute, but don't be late, because if you don't sign up, you cannot participate.

I'll post the sign-up page on the day of the tournament. Bracket will be posted after sign-ups are closed.

Remember to join the 'giantbomb' channel on Battle.net to meet everyone and find your opponent(s) quickly.

Streaming:

Giant Bomb user Vic_Ramen will stream and commentate some matches. Other streamers are also very welcome.

Roughly what time will the sign-ups start at on the Saturday?

Will definitely try and sign-up, have a US account that's for things just like this although have been slacking with playing lately so will have to try and get some practise in between now and then (and some on the US servers instead of EU to get used to the latency).

How many players do you get for this approximately? Always missed these tournaments before until they're over so never paid much attention.

I usually open the sign-ups a couple hours before the tournament starts. Don't worry there will be plenty of time to sign up.

The number of players participating varies somewhat, but it's usually something between 20 and 50 for the US tournaments.

Very excited for another tournament. It has been too long since the last one.

Not expecting to get too far as haven't played much at all recently.

Are we allowed to Race Switch between games? I've recently switched from Protoss to Zerg and there's some match-ups I'd rather play as Protoss than Zerg so would I be allowed to do that or do I have to stick to one race?

Switching races is fine! :). I dont believe there was ever a set rule so i guess im saying it now? you can play whatever race you please :). Were here to have some friendly competition, nothing too serious 9which will be apparent in the cast i promise). so just have fun :D

Yes, if you're comfortable doing so, then you're totally allowed to switch between races each game.

My goal is not to lose every single game my hope is to take a round.

Thanks for organising it, was fun although am a bit disappointed to go out without winning a game but against two Masters players never really stood a chance but feel I could have won the first game against Shibb as had an advantage after sniping his hatch but forgot to put drones back into gas after building a roach warren meaning losing to banes :(.

Will definitely be back for the next tournament and hopefully will have played a lot more before then so looking forward to it. Top 8 finish for my first tournament isn't bad though ;)
