Yeah, definitely no good at it I guess you can't really blame me I've only spent an hour in the games story (Just bought this on Friday) so I guess I suck but yeah people in the games sure don't like noobs that don't know anything.

Same here dude. I did a FFA with 4 other people and built a whole bunch of stuff, but apparently it wasn't enough. 9 Battlecruisers killed me, my base, and my drive to play online for a couple of months.

if you have number two.... why play number one? 

I felt the same way about Starcraft. I don't have SC2 myself but I did play the SC2 Beta as I got an invite.
 
The second one currently blows its prequel away, especially since the prequel no longer has ranked leagues, but rather has a douchy elitist community that insults you constantly and has jerk game hosts who ban you from their games (literally) for having a 0 - 5 loss record online in unranked games. At least this is what I experienced playing it on the EU region server.

The second one is so similar to the first in general gameplay concepts that there's really no reason to play 1 except maybe the story.
