Starscream

Starscream is a recurring character in the Transformers franchise. His position as second-in-command and loyalty to Megatron (feigned or sincere) are definitive aspects of the character. He often takes on the form of a jet of or a combat aircraft of some kind.

Origin

Starscream was one of the first Decepticons, falling in line with the mighty Megatron quickly.

However, he wasn’t always a warrior. Before the war, Starscream was a scientist, working along side Skyfire (Jetfire) on Cybertron. There was an accident and Skyfire left Cybertron, but Starscream would find him buried in ice sometime later on earth.

During the war, Starscream became Megatron’s second in command, often leading the Decepticons on dangerous and destructive missions.

As second in command, Starscream is the leader of the Seekers, a small team of Decepticon jets consisting of Dirge, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Thrust, Ramjet and himself and together they rule the skies.

Personality

Starscream is just as evil as Megatron, but is more cunning than his leader.

He prefers to use speed and guile to defeat his foes, rather than the brute destructive force used by his superior, and, being more intelligent than your average Decepticon was stuck out on his own several times and seen some fruit for his labour.

Starscream is ruthless and cruel, often looking down on Megatron and his fellow Decepticons as thugs. He is incredibly ambitious and doesn’t attempt to conceal the fact he wants to overthrow Megatron and assume leadership of the Decepticons, but will never act unless the situation guarantee’s him success.

Starscream will often argue with Megatron, which has led to several violent encounters. Megatron, however, often dismisses him and only wounds his lieutenant, putting Starscream in his place in front of the other Decepticons.

Transformations

Starscream’s transformation has always been into some kind of jet, however, original he transformed into an F-15 Eagle.

Since then, Starscream has been various kinds of futuristic jet, Except in the 2007 movie, where he was an F-22 Raptor.
