Wile I am excited sadly I have work that day but I have off the following day and plan to pour some time into this game. Anyone else excited for this release?

Yay. I was getting nervous thinking that it was going to get pushed back. Kinda weird in this day and age, that the release date was announced two days before the actual release.

Sounds like the campaign is quite lengthy.

also, i've dumped about 17 hours into state of decay so far and the end is nowhere in sight, so 20 bucks doesn't seem unreasonable.

Pretty excited for this, though I do hope the multiplayer gets added in quickly!

Looked at the IGN videos, and while the game looks awesome in many ways, I'm also very disappointed in the very 'janky' feel it seems to have. Framerate, clipping, characters jumping around the screen, and so on. Will wait and see what reviews say, if it affects enjoyment too much.

I really wanna dive in but the whole "no enemy npc's" thing sorta bothers me, I kinda expected it to have some bandits. Hopefully they add pvp or put it in an update somehow, either way the game looks pretty fun.

It looks pretty good, but I think I'll wait for the PC release. I have my hands full with Dragon's Dogma right now, and I still have Metro: Last Light barely started. I rather finish those games in the meantime and get it for PC when it comes out in a few months.

Sounds okay. I'm waiting for some more impressions to get out before I jump on it myself.

I played it for a few minutes before work. Seems really fun. Combat is satisfying and im eager to explore the world.

Did anyone else have an issue with the game not saving any progress made during the trial, before unlocking the full game?

Hasn't been released down here in Australia yet, apparently on account of not having been classified yet.
It's been submitted though, so guess we gotta wait on that. Or I can dust off the ol' US Xbox Live account. That'd probably be quicker.

Been playing bits and pieces of it since earlier this afternoon. It's surprisingly good (so far).

Been playing for about 3 hours at this point and so far I'm really impress. The game mechanics are solid, world looks great, and it's addicting. This game defiantly warrants its $20 price tag.

@dimsey: I recommend using the US Xbox Live account as State of Decay may still get banned in Australia as "illicit or proscribed drug use related to incentives or rewards" is still prohibited under the new guidelines for video game classification and morphine is one of the health-restorative items available in this game.

So I guess the PC version isn't dated yet? This seems perfect for multiplayer regardless of platform.

is there character creation/customization or do you just play as randomly generated survivors?

There is no character creation/customization, you always start the game as Marcus. Other survivors become playable as you progress through the game.
