    State of Emergency is a franchise originally kickstarted in 2002, with the arrival of State of Emergency on the Playstation 2 platform. The game made its appearance at E3 2001, and was released as a low-price title. The game was given generally average-to-above average reviews, and the franchise lay dormant for four years, before being revived by State of Emergency 2. Taking place ten years after the original game, the corporation controlling every aspect of its citizens' lives has grown stronger.
