Another round of games have been plucked from the Greenlight community for a proper spot on Steam, and Valve announced its latest picks today. 10 games are about to take the plunge.

Publishers who haven’t already worked with Steam in the past have to go through the Greenlight process now, as well, which is why games like Akaneiro: Demon Hunters and La-Mulana are on the list.

If you’ve played or checked out anything on this list that you’ve found particularly interesting, let me know.

Unepic is really fantastic. The writing is a bit rough around the edges, but it is a well done Metroidvania style game.

Oh god I can't afford this. Bring on the next sale already.

I know Kentucky Route Zero was Greenlit, just waiting for them to come to an agreement with the games makers.

Looks like a good list. Glad to see La-Mulana finally getting its place on Steam ! Also hoping War For The Overworld lives up to the hype of being the "next dungeon keeper"..

No love for Tales of Maj'Eyal?

Aww. It had its 1.0 release earlier this month, the game is fantastic.

#15 Posted by I_smell (3925 posts) -

Haha, I remember a tonne of people saying "WHY ISN'T LA MULANA GREENLIT!?"

#16 Posted by grayfox1210 (200 posts) -

The lack of Euro Truck Simulator 2 displeases me.

Really glad to see Akanerio get green-lit. Been in the beta for a few weeks, and it's pretty good overall. Not to mention being able to discuss the game and subsequent changes to the game with American McGee himself in chat while playing said game is pretty frickin sweet.

Patrick, I really hope you guys do a QL or at least some sort of video coverage of Akanerio at some point. Maybe even interview American McGee about it and/or Spicy Horse games itself. I'd love to see something you guys put together on that.

Man I reeaaally want Distance to be greenlit :(.

Word of warning: DLC Quest is super short and literally takes no more than an hour to complete. The game costed a dollar on X-Box Indies, so if the price is the same on Steam and you're willing to put up a dollar for an hour long joke, then go for it. Just don't expect a 'quest' as much as an interactive comedy skit.

Goddamn, man, be proud for what you've accomplished. You're the number one, numero uno, first, the alpha and omega. Keep your head held high and ignore these people, they're just jealous.

Glad La-Mulana finally got in.

#24 Posted by cloudymusic (1230 posts) -

Still no Cook, Serve, Delicious, huh? That's too bad.

#25 Posted by Little_Socrates (5715 posts) -

So, which Leisure Suit Larry are we talking about? A remake of the super old-school game, or a new game that no one in their right mind would ever play?

#26 Posted by Sumdian (16 posts) -

I'm so thrilled to see La-Mulana get greenlit. I've always wanted to see Nigoro experience mainstream success for the gem they made 8 years ago.

WHERE THE FUCK IS COOK, SERVE, DELICIOUS?

I'm pretty sure Al Lowe has the rights for the name and the games back, so it's probably pre-loading for the Kickstarted LSL Reloaded.

I don't know why Patrick needed to call me out. It's not like the internet is... serious business or anything :-(

Hell yeah La-Mulana! Been waiting for this to be Greenlit ever since the Quick Look. Very excited.

THIS. A million times this.

I've watched the quick look probably 3-4 times since it has come out because the quick look is so entertaining, and the game is huge amounts of fun. I'd love to see it get the exposure it needs to expand to the rest of Steam.

Really happy La-Mulana finally made the list, even through all my friends and myself already own it via other digital distributions.

I've been waiting and hoping for Kingdom Rush. :(

You did a bad thing and should feel bad for it. Simple as.

#41 Posted by gorndonfredoman (21 posts) -

Some of these look cool but the continued lack of The Pinball Arcade on Steam is really distressing and makes me wonder if I really want the steam community to have this much say in what goes up. How the hell does a game with tables licensed from The Twilight Zone and Star Trek not immediately get fast tracked on to the service? Last I hard they were only in the top 80 or something, but I'm sure all the people who voted for the game would pay for some tables as well.

It's fine that valve have democratized their service but it seems that in some instances more niche games are going to get the shaft in favor of more in vogue indie puzzle platformers and horror games.

Can we all unite to ensure that Cook Serve Delicious makes the next cut?

#43 Posted by ghostNPC (793 posts) -

Damn it, Distance didn't make it.

#44 Posted by Branthog (5597 posts) -

Several from Kickstarter.

Some already on GOG.

The rest still in-development . . . and I'm taking odds on them being released for purchase on Steam in alpha or beta states without any clear labeling of what status you're buying the game in. :)

The one from Kickstarter.

Just checking: La Mulana's map is predetermined, like Metroid, right? Not random, like Spelunky?

#46 Posted by falling_fast (2279 posts) -

hmm, was hoping to see Alea Jacta Est on this list. maybe soon, though.

#47 Posted by Rhete (19 posts) -

And still no Shantae

Where the hell is Cook, Serve, Delicious?

#49 Posted by FluxWaveZ (19388 posts) -

Kind of weird to me that Cook, Serve, Delicious! hasn't made it yet.

I had gotten DLC Quest in some indie bundle a while back and I enjoyed the hell out of it, despite it being short and having no replay. Looks like he's adding more content to the Steam version, so if that's the case, I'll probably buy it again on there.
