    I hear Jeff mention this now and then but I'm kinda worried using a cheat engine will trigger some anti-cheat thing on steam and ban my arse. If I use it only on single player games(I wanted to try it with Metal Gear Rising) would it be fine?

    You're pretty much fine if you don't use it in online games.
