I've been buying a lot of really dubious Steam game bundles lately. Groupees.com has loaded me down with many Russian games of questionable quality, though I've snagged some really good titles as well.

All of this forty-cents-a-game purchasing leaves me with a disorganized Steam library, so every month or so I sit down and google each game to find the proper genre to fit them into.

Do you catalog your Steam games, or do you have one long list? Or do you have a single heading for games that require your immediate attention while the rest languish below?

P.S.: My googling uncovered this little program. Has anyone tried it?

I sort by genre and put the games I'm currently playing through in favourites and remove them when I'm done.

This is exactly what I do, but I also have a category that is titled "Do Not Play" for those games that are just fucking terrible.

My "Favorites" are the games I considered keepers. Everything else are games I don't like or don't want to keep but can't get rid of because Steam.

I do have a section that just says "Stuff I am never going to play". There are a lot of games in that one. No really, I'm good not playing whatever crummy tower defense game(s) I obtained via humble bundles and poorly thought out impulse purchases.

I have one category called "To Play" were I put things I get on sales and in bundles so I don't forget about them. I still manage to forget to play most of them though.

    Yep.

But I only created 1 other category besides your general library and favorites.

    - Bin - for games I will never ever play again, or are shit, or never wanted in the first place, i just keep it minimized so it doesn't pollute my main library

I have been sorting them as Favorites, Beaten, and Not Beaten, but I may reorganize them to include the categories of "Not Going to Beat" and "Not Worth Playing"

Or just go back to one giant list with a small category of "To Play" games on the side.

I organise by genre. Which can be a little awkward at times, especially with RPGs.

As such I know catagorise them as:

    • Action-RPG - Your Diablo clones and the like
    • Classic-RPG - Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter etc.
    • Modern-RPG - Mass Effect, The Witcher, TES and all that good stuff.

I can't do genre, it's just way too many categories to go through. For me I have it like this:

    • Favorites - What I'm actively playing and trying to beat
    • Done With - Games I'll probably never go back to
    • Indie Games - ...indie games
    • Multiplayer - Ze Multiplayer games
    • Games - Games I'm not actively playing but I may go back to in the future

I use this terrible list of genres.

Best thing? Chivalry is in FPS. Yep. I abuse these quite badly. At least I know where my games are. I also like that I can put my friend's games in my categories, so I only have to see the games from their libraries I actually care about.

I got in to getting and selling trading cards so I made a category for games with drops remaining. Don't really use it anymore though.

I have sorted all of my games according to the hair color of the main character.

    I have 36 brunette, 9 blonde, 1 redhead, 17 other, and 74 not applicable.

Finally it won't be such a hassle to find the game I'm looking for.
