Well, the mid-year Steam sale is just around the corner; it'll be interesting to compare how much we think we'll spend with how much we'll actually spend. I was going to list every dollar amount between 1 and 100, but that would have been crazy =|

Since I've donated a lot of money recently and now plan on getting one of the Giant Bomb t-shirts in honor of Ryan, I'm guessing I will not be spending much.

I'm guessing 41-50. Every time I tell myself I should hold back because my backlog is huge enough as it is, but if I see a deal that is really good I won't hesitate a second to pick it up.

All I'm currently interested in is a copy of Vampire: Bloodlines to replace my 4 CD version that's scratched beyond repair after the recent eurogamer article and Dead Island: Riptide if it goes dirt cheap at 60% off or more. So maybe... $20?

$50 max probably. There's only a bit of stuff I want to buy, most of which won't likely be on sale like Rogue Legacy. I have a massive backlog so I am trying to cut back on buying anything for the near future.

I doubt I'll spend anything. I've never gone that crazy during Steam sales and I've been through enough that I don't really care anymore. And I've got $15 in Steam credit from selling those trading card things so if there's a game I really want, I probably won't have to pay anything for it.

The last summer sale was a big miss, a whole bunch of stuff I already had went on sale, woo hoo. . . . I don't anticipate spending any money this year, but only time will tell.

I actually have barely any money at this point and I've already bought most of what I've wanted already in previous steam sales. I'm guessing $10 at most.... but I also wouldn't be surprised if I went over that.

I guessed at 51-60. I want to get most of the stuff on my wishlist, which is about 25 games long @$5-$20 at the moment. I anticipate skipping the early access/unreleased games and focusing on greenlight stuff, and if Borderlands 2 dlc goes on sale at a steep discount then I might go for that too.

I usually buy all the PC games that I'm going to play over the next six months during the sale. I do that for the winter and the summer. I spend roughly the same amount as a new game, $60 but end up getting 8+ games to play. I sometimes load up on indie games, so 12+ games sometimes.

21-30 I'd say. This is the first ever steam sale I'll have money for but I don't want to overdo it. I have other shit to save for, like next gen.

Up to around $100, I think. There are still a couple of larger bundles I hope to grab, such as the Total War series, and possibly a couple of Ubisoft franchises, RE6 and RE: Revelations.

I hope I can stay at $0 this year, I just bought the new Civ5 expansion and that (together with a million other unplayed games) will hopefully keep me clear of spending money on a sale.

I'm going to try and limit myself this year since I still haven't bought Brave New World and that won't go on sale for anything large. I'll definitely get dragonborn for skyrim but other than that not really sure what else.

Depends what goes up. In the first steam sale after I got a usable pc, I spent 100+, then went on to spend about 300-400£ that year, on almost 200 games, picked 21-30 this year cause I have (and obviously have not played) most everything interesting.

Still have like 50+ games in my backlog and I've decided I just won't buy another game on steam until I finish what I got, or at least given the game a decent shot, such as with Borderlands and Zeno Clash. Sorry, I tried to like you, I really did.

That said, I'm still totally buying 400 Days, Bioshock Infinite, Final Fantasy VII, Rogue Legacy, Dragonborn, Mark of the Ninja, Brütal Legend, Civ 5: Brave New World and Tomb Raider. Provided they go on decent and/or acceptable sales of course.

The backlog I have on steam and ps3 is already too big, so hopefully nothing.

If there is any deal on Rogue Legacy, Gunpoint or Prison Architect I'll probably succumb. In that case, trying to limit spending to ~ £20.

Full price doesn't bother me if it's a game I wanna play, and I now only buy games I know I will immediately play and want to finish. So... I most likely won't buy anything from the next sale.

My personal spending cap is at about €115 which due to the €=$ pricing is the same amount in dollars. I've just upgraded my rig and landed a sweet-paying summer substitute job. I'm literally at the edge of my seat for the sale right now. Man do I hope it is today after the mid-week sales end as the rumors seem to indicate.

I buy most of my games in the Steam summer and winter sales and play them all throughout the the months in-between. Now that I finally have a rig that can run anything, I'm like a kid at Christmas morning.
