Steam
Concept »
A digital distribution service owned by Valve Corporation. Originally created to distribute Valve's own games, Steam has since become the de facto standard for digital distribution of PC games.
Interplay + Fallout games now on Steam!
5.99 each. No DRM. No Steam-like launcher required. Pay in $ regardless of your location.
You can get them cheaper at http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fallout/ without DRM, patched for compatibility, and has a soundtrack. For once, I don't think you should get them from Steam (unless they come in a bundle that's cheaper than $12).
Edit: Just saw someone else already posted this.
Kingpin was awesome, too bad it was lost in the Columbine bullshit. I think my shitty PC can run it, I'm probably gonna get it.
Wow. That's convenient, considering that I just wrote my most recent blog on Fallout 1. Those games are worth checking out.
Why is there no bundle that includes Fallout 3 as well? :(
Joining Steam was the greatest decision I had ever made in my life. Glad to see these old games coming to the service, seeing as I haven't really played a whole lot of PC games, but getting into it.
Oh man, Kingpin. Possibly the sweariest game of all time? Here's a cool story for you, bros: I spent about 7 hours downloading the Kingpin demo back in the day and then it didn't work because I didn't have a 3dfx card. Jesus rage.
It's still worth checking out just for the dialogue near the start of the game which goes something like this:
"Hey, man, you gotta dollar?"
"Shit, man! I ain't got a dollar!"
"Fuckin' piss off!"
Classic.
If you're still not convinced, here's the intro:
