Massive Steam Sale Starts Now
" @Rolento: Left4Dead 2 is 10 euros. It's not on the daily thing for some reason, though. Maybe they ment to put that there instead of Half-Life. Cause Half-Life was already -33%. "Yeah, they updated the sale page but not the prices. Upon refresh I saw they had dropped a lot. My post has been updated. All of a sudden the sale isn't so bad.
Zeno Clash - $3.75
Star Wars the Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition - $7.49
Bought them! :D
Does anyone still play City of Heroes? I might give it a chance.
" @NekuSakuraba said:How is SupCom 2? I might check it out it it is good." Zeno Clash - $3.75Star Wars the Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition - $7.49 Bought them! :D "Same two I bought. :) Already own L4D2, Company of Heroes, and SupCom 2. "
It's not bad... Not as good as the first, if you played it, but it's still better than most of the strategy games that have come out recently. I'd certainly say it's worth the $7.47.
"How is SupCom 2? I might check it out it it is good. "
The single player campaign is a bit weak, but you'll get your money's worth out of skirmish mode and multiplayer, if that's your thing.
" I really want to buy Mount and Blade Warband at 50% off right now, but knowing that it might fall down to 75% for one of the "Today Only" deals makes me hesitate. Damn, this is hard. What to do? "Im with you, man
" @Durandir said:Yeah me too. I just going to wait it out and buy it on the 4th if it does not appear on a daily sale." Only thing interesting today for me is the Company of Heroes pack, but at $25 that takes a big chunk out of my steam sale budget. Funny how all these 75+% off sales make a deal like that look pricey. What a week!
Got Sacred Gold for $3.39. Already had 2 so it sounded like a good chance to try the original.
Anyone think Borderlands will make it to the dailies?
Only got Zeno Clash today and the 80 Atari Classics yesterday.
There's still a week left and I'm gonna be fucking broke.

How is zeno clash? It looks interesting, however I don't give a shit usually about indie games.
I found a demo at least, i'm going to install it and see how it's like.
Lucky I gots some moneys! I think I'll only get L4D2 though, unless something else pops up, I didn't get around to playing much of the games I got from the winter sale. I've still got Splinter Cell games and stuff to play.
Just bought Zeno Clash out of today's releases, that father mother thing in the quick look really creeped me out and I just had to see more! Unfortunately I bought AudioSurf a few weeks back for full price otherwise that would have been a definite purchase as well. I bought Force Unleashed in a sale a while back too but haven't gotten around to playing any more than the Darth Vader level yet.
The only bad thing about all this is that I used most of my monthly data re-downloading all of my PSN games so I won't be able to play all of these games for a while...
Today's sales are up.
Max Payne Bundle $3.74
EVE Online: Tyrannis $1.99
Kane and Lynch: Dead Men $4.99
Gothic Bundle $1.99 Edit: Price just jumped to $4.99
Flotilla $2.50
Half-Life $1.99
Dawn of War II Gold $19.99
All Civilization Games 75% off
Nothing too exciting to me. On a funny side note, they had Civ IV Warlords listed for $349. Was probably supposed to be a bundle of some kind.
I think I just crossed the "spent-100€-on-steam-sale" line.
Just gave up and gave away 35€ for the Complete Id Software Pack of which I already owned everything except Doom 3+exp, Heretic 1, Hexen 1+exp and Commander Keen, and the expansions for the Quake series ... none of which seems terribly exciting.
I do love Hexen though, and I think I'll love Doom 3. Not sure if it will end up being worth 35€ though.
I'm sure this was incredibly stupid of me though, there's bound to be incredible sales on individual Id Software titles later on during the summer sale.
Well, done is done, I'll just have to bang my head against the wall a few times if the later offer turns out to be a lot cheaper than what I just paid.
" holy eff, red faction Guerrilla for 5 BUCKS..... Seriously, whoever hasn't played this game yet now is the chance, a fantastic deal that is. edit: also heck yeah, torchlight on the "today only" offers, I knew it was best to wait. "
Yeah, that's an awesome deal. Too bad I already own it, though I think I bought it for around $9, so I don't feel ripped of - except for the fact that it doesn't run very well on my current computer. :)
damn this sale seems pretty damn awesome. if i didn't just buy a handful of games and bluray movies at the local movie gallery that's going out of business i might have some money to spend on this sale. oh well, i'm sure that these deals will come back in a year with bigger bundles.
never played RFG. Loved the first like crazy, know this one is a big departure, but I'm interested. Was gonna grab it on 360, but $5, done deal! any duders wanna play some mp, steam id is in my mini bio
Picked up Beat Hazard, GTA4, Zeno Clash, Ghostbusters, and Defense Grid for a grand total of $22. YES.
Also got Oblivion with all the official DLC/expansions for $8.50 a couple of weeks ago, but that was just another "weekly" sale.
Looks like I'm good on games for a while... unless something even more tempting comes out tomorrow!
" @onarum said:Yeah, well I do kind of... got it for my ps3, since all I have is a shitty notebook (kinda gave up on pc gaming about 3 years ago, got tired of having to upgrade every 6 months)." holy eff, red faction Guerrilla for 5 BUCKS..... "
But seeing all this awesome deals steam is putting out I feel compelled to build a new rig.
finished off the sale with a 65€ buying spree, bought the Call of Duty collection, Left 4 Dead 2, Act of War, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Trine and Dawn of War: Soulstorm (I already own the Dawn of War Anthology box which contains all the other Dawn of War I titles except that one, and according to the Steam store page, I should be able to enter the serial numbers from those titles into Soulstorm to get access to the content of them in that game).
I kind of considered Red Faction Guerilla, since it was so cheap - even though I own the retail version already - then I remembered that it uses Games for Windows Live, which probably means I won't be able to give/sell the retail copy I own, since I doubt I can unregister that copy from the GfWL service, and because of that another copy would be totally useless.
I also considered BioShock 2 and Mass Effect 2, but both of these were still pretty expensive even with 40-50% off, I'm pretty sure these will be sold for a lot less in stores in a few months, so I'll wait out on those. The same goes with Bad Company 2, which I am sure will be available for around 15€ soon - with 33% off it's still 34€ on Steam.
I might still buy Guild Wars: Game of the Year Edition and Star Trek Online though. I own all the other chapters + the expansion for Guild Wars, but the first chapter I haven't seen that cheap so far, even though 10€ isn't that cheap. That's what I got the Collector's Editions of the two other chapters for. 16€ for Star Trek Online seems somewhat reasonable, though I'd prefer something around 10€ for that too, considering I'll have to pay monthly fees for that later on if I buy it.
