Valve said we would be getting Steam on Mac in April. That's it. Whats the deal. I'm checking every other hour lately. I'd think in 2010 I wouldn't have to do this.
Does anyone have anything else to go by on this?
Steam

A digital distribution service owned by Valve Corporation. Originally created to distribute Valve's own games, Steam has since become the de facto standard for digital distribution of PC games.
Steam on Mac
I think it was only recently (the beginning of April) that the client went into closed beta. I signed up the other day after learning that. You can bet it at least won't be out until the finalization of the current UI update (which was probably started in the first place so that the client could become more OS agnostic). I'm just as impatient for it though. I really want to play some Valve games on my Mac without the cumbersome, buggy use of virtualization software or Wine.
You assume he isn't a fan already? There happens to be people out there who have been playing Valve games since '04 and after Left 4 Dead came out, moved onto a Mac (me). He also might own both a PC and a Mac! Who knows!? Perhaps he just expects that Valve has finally gotten on its feet with announcing things. After all, Left 4 Dead 2 came out within 6 months of it being announced." @BetaMax: If you're going to become a Valve fan you're going to have to make some rather serious adjustments. "
" Be patient. "Hey you guys remember when the half-life episodes were supposed to come out like 6 months apart? Oh man that was HILARIOUS.
" Looking forward to this, too. Valve games will be nice to have on my Mac, but what I'm really hoping for is Audiosurf. "Actually, me too. I'll definitely try to get Half-Life but if Audiosurf comes out one day, it'll be a free-for-all
You know, you could just install windows with Bootcamp and have Steam now without waiting.
I did that for a long time before getting my new windows based PC.
Kotaku is feeling my pain.
They agree, that we are running out of April.

Kotaku writes articles to get web hits. They don't really actually give a shit either way, they just ride the controversy.
