@Khann:
It ends January 3rd, but they are rotating deals, so the deals you see now aren't necessarily going to last.
#15 Posted by Dalai (7028 posts) -
@Khann: Until January 3rd. That's a lot of sale... and I have a feeling I'm gonna end up buying more games than I'll ever need.

I finally caved and bought GTAIV, but I really do love that game... totally worth $7.49. Really it was only $7.49.
#16 Posted by JJOR64 (18989 posts) -

I might get some Games for Windows LIVE games since I'm an achievement junkie.  Quantum of Solace is only $10.

Only the deals under "Special Deals" on the front page are rotating from what I can tell, the rest should stay until Jan 3rd.

Just when you thought your wallet was safe... BAM!

Guess I'd better start browsing the storefront and spending this month's rent, then.

I couldn't let go of Indigo Prophecy at £2.37

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is $1.99 today only. That is definitely worth it.

I wish that Sony and Microsoft would learn something from Steam, like being more aggressive with price reduction on PSB and XBL.

Anybody actually able to download your games? I bought GTA IV and started the download but it's stuck at "download starting...".

#24 Posted by CitizenJP (1019 posts) -

I love Steam sales.

#25 Posted by FCKSNAP (2299 posts) -

I just realized that I purchased two games that I had already bought multiple times before, including the PC versions. FUUUUUCK

Steam works in mysterious ways. Exit steam, end the process in task manager, re-open steam, and go to my-games. Leave it there for a minute or two and your games should start downloading.

Good luck my friend.

That fixed it, thanks.

@Babble - Yeah I thought that was the case at first but the restart fixed it.

Holy Moly, thanks for the Heads up. Just bought GTA IV as well

#30 Posted by MC_Izawa (604 posts) -

The Eidos pack worth it? I realize it has an almost brand new game in there, but I've already played it. Worth it for 'classics' like Hitman, Deus Ex, and Thief?

#31 Edited by Mikemcn (6988 posts) -

How does GTA IV play on PC? I heard its a real system cruncher and teands to be buggy? Anyone know?
And Im thinking im going to go for Empire: Total War as well. Any thoughts?

Thank god this sale last until january, im horrible at making quick purchases.

Wait, they have commander Keen on Steam? I dont care if it isnt on sale thats awesome.

Break out the football helmets laddies.

I'm also thinking about gta4, I don't think it runs well unless you have a quad core, however I am willing to play it at lower settings.

Also does anyone know if games like san andreas has problems running on vista? I've heard from google that it does, unless you buy a later version.

San Andreas has no problems running Vista as far as I know. I burnt a copy for my friend who uses Vista and he has no problems when we play online.

@Mikemcn: Cant speak for GTA but Empire is an awesome game if you can live with its quirks. If you liked any of the Total War games I would get it. If you have never played one, try the demo, they are pretty niche type games. Dave wrote a good review also.

I vowed I would not buy anything from Steam that I have already played (with the exception of Stalker because its only $2) so I got Trine, The Witcher, Torchlight, and Stalker. Cost me $34. I look forward to playing those games sometime next summer.
#40 Posted by ToxicFruit (1717 posts) -

Maybe I will finally get Borderlands...

#42 Posted by Babble (1270 posts) -

Dawn of Discovery at $24.99 is very tempting.

#43 Posted by Fleppie (200 posts) -

Just bought GTA IV, Lucas Arts Adventure pack, Oddworld pack & Defense Grid.

#44 Posted by AndrewB (7611 posts) -

If you haven't yet, pick up Far Cry 2; the game is pretty awesome, and at $10, it's a frickin steal. Of course, a lot of these games are.

#45 Posted by ShaunassNZ (2128 posts) -

Yea Steam's getting fucked over and now not showing anything or just instead of proper text there is just code names.

#46 Posted by clush (416 posts) -

Go and get The Witcher, people.  It's the best RPG this side of 2005. And yes, that includes Dragon Age.

#47 Posted by ShaunassNZ (2128 posts) -

Anyone know why I have to login everytime I make a purchase?

Just in case someone else comes to your computer when you are logged into Steam? It would prevent them from buying $1000 worth of games on your account.

Yes but it never usually does it.
