Steam sale coming up. What are you going to buy?
@phrosnite said:I was intending on making one once the sale actually started. Hopefully that will be tomorrow. Were you also thinking of doing it?There will be no sale this year...except its confirmed there will. Anyway, is anyone stepping up to the plate to make a official (fancy) thread for the sale?
@Rhaknar said:only if noone was, but im lazy so my threads are very simple. like i said, someone needs to step up and make a "fancy"one :P@phrosnite said:I was intending on making one once the sale actually started. the biggest "clue"at the moment (appart from all the indy devs saying their games will be in the summer sale) is that Team Fortress 2 got a new item today (yesterday?) called a Refreshing Summer Cooler, basically a new type of crate that you cant opne yet and expires on july the 11th. If the sale starts tomorow, not only would it start on a thursday like last year, but it would last the same 12 days it lasted last year (assuming it lasts until the 11th like the crate says, which makes sense since its a monday)Last years sale started on a Thursday. Time to get your hopes up based on guess!
just common sense duders. Also, them neogaf nutjobs like to dig around the steam registry, and there are a lot of summer related achivements in games, and publisher packs added the last few days. Oh and also, the current midweek ends on 10am pdt, midweek sales always end at 4pm, another little clue.
so who's doing the thread then?

Summer achievements? It's almost as if it were... summer
yes, because Steam puts season specific achievements in games when there aren't sales... whatever dude, i cant even be arsed to argue this. you believe whatever the fuck you want to believe, hows that?@Rhaknar said:

im sorry then, my bad. youre right, that was well harsh, even i thought that after typing it >_> these forums have been depressing me lately, i guess i just unloaded on you. Again, my bad@Rhaknar: I was just making a joke, you responded way too seriously. We'll leave it at that.

I know how you feel. Every time I post on these forums I get a dickish reply (not you).
Depends on what is on sale. If it is on my wishlist and is half off, then yes, i'll buy it right away. And if it is a title that i kind of like and is 75% off, then yeah, i'll pick that up too... i find that i buy a lot of games on sale, even if i don't intend on playing them... i have trouble resisting sales...
You really should. Games that has been on sale before tends to go on sale again.I wish I had gotten Borderlands GotY when it was $7.50. Hopefully it goes on sale again soon.
when making the sale thread make sure to post the number 1 tip for Steam sales (especially for people who never had a sale), ONLY BUY FROM DAILY DEALS. everything else wait until the last day. Example, 2K catalog is 33% off or something the whole week, you rush to buy borderlands... only to find out its a daily deal the next day for 75% off.
Edit: It's started, I made a thread, and here's what I've bought so far.
- Receattear: An Item Shop's Tale - $5.00
Well, I'm sure there will be more but lets start this off with my first impulse purchase of the day

Ahem......So I'm about to build my new pc. Means I have to have some games to play right? Right???

I bought Hydrophobia Prophecy just yesterday. That was a great bargain. Maybe I'll get Portal 2.
Same here. Have to take into account a lot of things before buying something. But damn, I wish I could just go crazy and purchase. Everything. Well, not everything but you know what I mean. Then again, I like being rational when it comes to spending money.I wish I could buy anything, I have what you might call a minor cash flow problem right now.

I know someone else who managed to buy an assload of Steam games on his over his first year of university and absolutely burned through all the cash in his bank account.Same here. @oraknabo said:It's at $13.39 now. I might wait a couple of days to see if it happens to pop up as a daily deal, but I'll probably be getting it before the last day at this price. If VTM: Bloodlines drops to $10, I'll be buying that.Ooh, forgot that was even on Steam. Have to buy it if it goes on sale.
@STUVNING said:I doubt it will be a daily. The only reason it was discounted in the first place is because its part of the activision catalog, and the base price is still (astoundingly) $20, which suggests that someone forgot it ever existed. As I said though, probably will pick it up regardless because it's something I've been looking for for a while.@oraknabo said:It's at $13.39 now.
