@rebgav: It seems to depend on the game right now, anything that explicitly needs steam servers cant work. DOTA 2 is unplayable right now

@MaFoLu: I'm getting the same thing. Still get the occasional 503 if i refresh the web browser version, but constant failures on the steam app side.

I've had it on most of today and haven't noticed anything. though I've not been using the store.

It's slightly depressing that the removal of Dota2 from my life results in my brain turning into cardboard. I actually caught myself sitting at the computer for 5 minutes doing absolutely nothing except waiting for the steam servers to come back online. That game has turned me into a fucking automaton.

@Sweep: Seriously, you are ALWAYS playing Dota 2. I open my friends list, 9 times out of 10 you're playing Dota 2. It's almost like how I used to play LoL :)

I heard from my source that the deal of the day wasnt loaded on the back end, so steam broke.

Went to go play SMNC, can't because the servers are down. Guess I'm going to go study like I should be right now for tests on tuesday.

@Sweep: Thanks for putting that in my mind. Think I've had enough videogame and non-videogame related services hacked. Thankfully, so many of them means I tend not to save any credit card info (but who's to say that info still isn't on some server...).

If this is the world's way of forcing me to study, I am not happy about it.

I think I can live without cloud saves and the store for a day.

Don't worry guys. I can still launch Jagged Alliance. No one has to die today.

I dont save my card to steam, so i wont have to change my card, but they are 1. being hacked, 2. Had server trouble. 3. Server maintenance at a weird time.

Intermittent "The Steam Store is experiencing heavy server load" errors, but at least that's something.

Why would anyone attack steam. I feel like a crack addict every time steam goes down i just start to get the shakes.

I feel like Anonymous wouldn't dare hit Steam, but then I'm reminded that Anonymous is often comprised of a lot of dudes who want to watch the world burn. Not always, but it seems that way sometimes.

Just got back into the store. Looks sort of odd when new releases and top sellers are blank

The one day I want to play something on Steam it goes down...nice.

This is very, very strange. I hope it's just a hardware failure and not something malicious.
