Well, it looks like it's another publisher week on Steam. I can't say that there's many Ubisoft games I'm interested in getting, but the Prince of Persia Complete Pack does seem like a pretty good deal :o
I'm losing money if I don't buy it, right? :P

Ubisoft Week on Steam
Will these have that nefarious DRM that Ubisoft seems fond of? I haven't followed that very closely.
Will these have that nefarious DRM that Ubisoft seems fond of? I haven't followed that very closely.Out of the PoP games, Forgotten Sands seems to be the only one with third party DRM.
Looks like I'll pass up another sale on Far Cry 2, that has to be one of the daily sales right?
Moar liek Ubisoft Weak on Steam, am I right? In all seriousness, I have all the AC games on 360, played all the PoP games on PC and Far Cry 2 doesn't seem too appealing to me (unless it's dirt cheap). Anything else to look forward to?There will probably be a Tom Clancy day(s), if that's your thing...
ubi week should be cool. starts off with a bang for me since ive been wanting to get PoP 2008 on steam for a while now, i love that game. 5euros is the sweet spot. I also wanna get Forgoten Sands, but not for 10 since i already finished it on ps3 (but dont own it anymore) and just want it to have all PoP games on steam.
from the rest of the ubi catalog, i wanna have AC2 and BH on steam, but they probably wont be cheap enough for me to double dip (brotherhood certainly wont and i already finished ac2 on 360, but would love to play again), dont think i really want anything else. oh RB6 Vegas 1 would be cool, i only have 2 (from that AC/Juarez/FarCry2/RB6V2 weird pack some months ago).
side note, fianlly a daily deal that i want after a lackluster first week of daily deals (for me), Mini Ninjas o/
edit: i might double dip on conviction if its 75% off, since i actually never even started it on 360, and it should run hella nice on my current rig
Do you know if the Splinter games on Steam have the shitty StarForce DRM?Doesn't seem like it.
Digital Rights Management. It's a counter-piracy measure. Ubisoft's DRM needed the PC to be connected at all times to the Internet to recieve some packages from the Ubisoft serves that allowed the game to continue to be played. Besides that, it only allowed for a limited amount of installations. Basically, you are penalized for buying the game. It's much easier to pirate it and play it whenever and however you want.@s7evn said:
Ugh, ubisoft DRM :(Excuse my noobyness, but what the heck is DRM and why is Ubisoft's so bad?
Very shitty stuff.
PS: Eh, maybe the latest Splinter Cell could be cool, if it's on sale.
I always wanted to play Chaos Theory, maybe I'll finally buy it. Maybe Conviction too, if it's cheap enough (is it even on Steam?)
Pass. There are no good Ubisoft games, and AC I already played on PS3. They have no games that even interest me.Prince of Persia, Anno, the Settlers, Splinter Cell?
I'm just going to get the 2008 PoP since I never played it. I already played all the AC and Splinter Cell games so I'm good.
I bought the PoP pack, I'll probably buy the Rainbow six games if they come in a pack, already have the Splinter cell games, dunno that i want anything else on steam from Ubisoft.
A friendly reminder that RUSE has Steamworks support so you can by it a retail and activate it on Steam for much cheaper.
Far Cry Day (both FC1 and 2 are 75% off). Also, daily deal is Evil Genius.
Not sure if I should pick up FC2 or not =|
For anyone else interested in Far Cry 2, but concerned about the DRM, this is a comment from the Steam forums:
This game definitely had the DRM REMOVED in the last patch. The Steam store page is inaccurate, there are no five machine activation limits on this game anymore.
