What are your top 5 most played games on Steam?

#151 Posted by FateOfNever (1809 posts) -

I don't know how I feel about this.

  1. Plants vs Zombies - 65 hours.
  2. Civ 5 - 41 hours.
  3. Blood Bowl (Dark Elf Edition + Legendary Edition) - 37 hours.
  4. Jade Empire - 32 hours.
  5. Torchlight - 24 hours.

#152 Posted by Skyfire543 (651 posts) -

I don't know the exact hours. Steam wont connect to my internet so it wont fetch any of that data, but I think it's:

  • Team Fortress 2 - Around 200 hours
  • Counter Strike: Source - Around 180 hours
  • Counter Strike 1.6 - Around 100 hours
  • Battlefield 2 - Around 70 hours
  • Borderlands 2 - Around 50 hours

TF2, CS:S, CS 1.6 and BF2 probably have way more than that actually. I started playing them like a year or two before Steam started tracking hours played.

2:CS:GO 96 hours

I have a friend who has played 955 hrs of Dota 2. I wonder if Brad has put in that much?

#159 Posted by Godlyawesomeguy (6385 posts) -

1. L.A. Noire- 159 hours

2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim- 95 hours

3. Saints Row: The Third- 64 hours

4. The Witcher- 43 hours

5. Fable: The Lost Chapters- 35 hours

L.A. Noire, and Fable are definitely not accurate as I left them on for a while once. The Witcher is more around 27 hours, but the other two are accurate.

This was really enlightening to actually look at:

skyrim - 191

tf - 174

amnesia - 54

left 4 dead 2 - 52

dota 2 - 34

i added all the /played on my wow characters two years ago, and i had more than a year's worth of time logged in to them... and that was two years ago.

Buncha lightweights in here. Lemme you show you how it's done, sugar:

Team Fortress 2

  • 2133 hours (no idling)

Planetside 2

  • 223 hours

Garry's Mod

  • 211 hours

Skyrim

  • 145 hours

New Vegas

  • 139 hours

Garry's Mod is the only surprising one on here as I haven't actually played that in the past year. I guess I played the fuck out of it when it came out?

EDIT: I guess this thread is hella old and maybe you guys aren't lightweights anymore?

  1. Civilization V: 149 hours
  2. Age of Empires III: Complete Edition: 105 hours
  3. The Secret World: 82 hours
  4. Wargame: Airland Battle: 72 hours
  5. Total War: Shogun 2 68 hours

Not surprised about it being so strategy heavy, but I really didn't expect TSW to be up there. Bought that one on a whim last Christmas after it went subscription free but I never felt that I played it that much. Guess I actually did.

#163 Posted by JohnTunoku (100 posts) -

I just realized that there are a few Ubisoft games on my list as a result of me not closing the stupid UPlay crap. I definitely didn't play 21 hours of Assassin's Creed: Revelations (or 15 hours of Blood Dragon).

#165 Edited by takayamasama (438 posts) -

Atlantica Online: 1267 hours played

Binding of Isaac: 216 hours

Dota 2 - 130

Skyrim - 97

TF2 - 93

Europa Universalis 3 - 65

(from memory) Either Victoria 2 or BFBC2 in 5th.

#167 Edited by Xymox (2057 posts) -

Steam hasn't always tracked hours so the stats aren't fully accurate. Missing a few hundred hours of CS Source, TF2 etc. But here's the list:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, 231 hrs

Sid Meier's Civilization V, 140 hrs

Thief 2, 74 hrs

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, 64 hrs

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, 62 hrs

I think most of those are pretty self-explanatory so I'll just add a few words about the thing that stands out like a soar thumb.

Look, Thief 2 is pretty fucking 'mazing. By the end of that game the developers kind of outstayed their welcome - feels like their level designers got bitten by the "oh god we have to ship this game right now"-bug and even though I enjoyed it for what it was, there's some incredible stuff made by the modding community. It's also one of the few games I enjoy playing on the highest difficulty setting due to its solid gameplay. I can sometimes spend upwards of 2+ hours on a single mission, so the time adds up quickly.

1 - Total War: Shogun 2: 271 hrs

For me its:

Star Trek Online - 355hrs

Eve Online - 80hrs

Star Wars Galaxies - 69hrs

Borderlands - 60hrs

Defiance - 21hrs

All that said, i only just started using Steam properly a few years ago, ive probably played the first 3 games way more than that but that is all ive captured since migrating all my games over to Steam. Still...355hrs on STO is scary...especially when i know thats only since i started using it through this app lol

  • Skyrim - 199 hours
  • Star Trek: Online - 127 hours

  • Borderlands 2 - 295hrs
  • STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl - 223hrs
  • Fallout: New Vegas - 173hrs
  • STALKER: Call of Pripyat - 126hrs

I think Clear Sky's on like 4hrs... it's not a good STALKER.

#180 Posted by bemusedchunk (656 posts) -

Dota 2: 75 hrs

Sleeping Dogs: 54 hrs

Just Cause 2: 35 hrs

Team Fortress 2: 31 hrs

Civilization V: 27 hrs

This doesn't show my World of Warcraft times - which is astronomical...

Is it sad that Rogue Legacy is my 6th most played game? Still stuck on that blob boss...

#181 Edited by Troispoint (267 posts) -

1- Team Fortress 2 100 hours (but actually played a total of 175 hours)

2- Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer 109 hours

3- NBA 2k12 103 hours

4- Red Alert 3 72 hours

5- Dragon Age: Origins 54 hours

I've played way too much Star Wars The Old Republic. Good thing it's not showing up here. lol

The Elder scrolls V: Skyrim - 119 hours

Counter-strike: Source - 108 hours

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer - 230 hrs on record

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer - 225 hrs on record

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Multiplayer - 224 hrs on record

I think CoD4 would have more but I had a boxed copy for that before steam was really a force, also my WoW characters have far to much time on them as well as my FFXI character

#185 Edited by McShank (1629 posts) -

I had to show off my 6th pick as it will soon have ALOT more hours since I am going to finish all the achievs here very shortly. FYI, CS has 1/3rd the hours I actually played same with L4D2 as Valve reset my time twice since I have had steam and those 2 seem to be the ones who get hit.

#186 Edited by JakeMoore1106 (51 posts) -

At the moment!

1. Football Manager 2013

2. Call of Duty Black Ops 2

3. Grid 2

4. Company of Heroes 2

5. Fallout 3

#187 Posted by MikeJFlick (435 posts) -
  1. Skyrim-259hrs
  2. Arma2-240hrs
  3. Shogun2-231hrs
  4. StartrekOnline-196hrs
  5. WargameALB-183hrs

Hours aren't 100% accurate, such as Arma 2, I played many more hours of that using Arma-2 launcher to launch my mods which doesn't launch steam and games all other games are subjected to me just being AFK or leaving my PC on overnight and forgetting they are running.

#188 Posted by Sethiel (1 posts) -

1) Mount and Blade Warband : 200 hours.

2) Napoléon Total War : 170 hours

3) GTA IV : 123 hours

4) Skyrim : 100 hours

5) Empire Total War : 56 hours.

:)

2. Witcher 2 (44 hrs)

3. Crusader Kings II (40 hrs)

4. Far Cry III (33 hrs)

5. Xcom: Enemy Unknown (31 hrs)

side note, if origin were included in this, Battlefield 4 would rank 2nd at 112 hrs.

Starbound-----Probably not real because it kept running in background after closing!

114 hrs on record

The Binding of Isaac

110 hrs on record

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

87 hrs on record

RIFT-------UGG MMO with launcher that would run and sit on my desktop...

79 hrs on record

EVE Online---Probably all I played of this but still thought it was good!

73 hrs on record

--------------------------------------------------------------

The three that would had made if not for those other three.

Sid Meier's Civilization V

38 hrs on record

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013

33 hrs on record

FTL: Faster Than Light

33 hrs on record

Pleasantly surprised to see so much Mount and Blade on here.

Kane and Lynch 2 - 254 hrs

Woah. I have to assume that's MP right? I have to admit, for as badly received as those games were, the MP was pretty great at times.

1. Mount & Blade: Warband
540 hrs on record

2. Fallout: New Vegas
238 hrs on record

3. The Sims(TM) 3
233 hrs on record

4. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
163 hrs on record

5. Fallout 3
(unknown) Steam screwed up when getting info for this one, but, a lot, probably more then New Vegas.

1: Team Fortress 2 - 290 hours (I feel like this is cheating a bit, because a lot of that is idling.)

2: Dota 2 - 90 hours (This I honestly can't believe, but then again, I have friends with over 1500 hours in Dota, so I feel kind of better about myself. Also a lot of this is sitting on menus/spectating friends.)

3: Just Cause 2 - 34 hours (I love this game.)

4: Audiosurf - 30 hours (I also love this game.)

5: Saints Row IV - 26 hours (See above.)

L4D1 - 166 hours

4. Skyrim: 93 hrs

5. Kerbal Space Program: 84 hrs

Posting this even though it's wrong.

No way have I put more time into Super Sanctum TD than I did Torchlight 1 or 2!

#198 Edited by Fredchuckdave (5187 posts) -

I don't really use steam, but presumably 140 hours to the Last Remnant, 100 hours to Heroes VI, 50 hours to Orcs Must Die! 2, 40 hours to Dungeons of Dredmor, 32 hours to Saint's Row 2, and 20 hours to Supreme Commander 2.
