Steam

A digital distribution service owned by Valve Corporation. Originally created to distribute Valve's own games, Steam has since become the de facto standard for digital distribution of PC games.
What game have you spent the most hours playing on steam?
I messed around with the PC version of Streetfighter for quite a while but probably Plants Vs Zombies, I got obsessed with trying to grow that tree.
TF2 with 49.7, I've probably spent more time on something like Minecraft, but I think the most played game ever, would have to be GTA SA, clocked in 200+ hours on PC atleast 150+ on PS2 and a few on Xbox.
Torchlight, because I play it while listening to podcasts. Only about 30 hours though; I don't do much PC gaming.
The Witcher, 30 hours. I'm still not done with the game, so that number should increase by another 20 hours or so
Civ 5 at 60 hours or so, my old pc started to make funny noises when trying to run the game with lowest settings so I have given up on steam for the mean time, gt5 is taking my time up now anyway...when I have time to play the fucking thing,
what am I saying it's summer, I'm enjoying the warm weather until the horrid winter months, give me 6 months, I'll tell you how many hours I have racked up then
I've clocked 57 hours into Left 4 Dead and probably even more on Xbox 360 version. I love me some zombies.
I've been a hardcore Steam user since mid-October when I got my PC, and since then I've clocked 88 hours of Civ 5, 81 hours of Team Fortress 2 and 43 hours of Plants vs. Zombies. I'm done with PVZ, but I expect the Civ 5 and TF2 numbers to just keep on rising and rising. Love them both to pieces.
Steam has only tracked stats for awhile, so a lot of them are completely inaccurate. Even when they have tracked, they have often remained inaccurate in doing so.
However, looking at my 1,500+ Steam library, there are about 100 that I have played for more than an hour:
- Stronghold Kingdoms: 685hrs
- Counter-Strike: 641hrs (it should be more like 2,500hrs)
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive 120hrs (that's about right - I don't like how they screwed up the community and server hosting and the rotating-vanishing map packs)
- RIFT: 120hrs
- Civilization V: 95hrs
- Dota 2: 86hrs (Mostly sitting idle while away from system; real play time is more like half that, before I quit and vowed to never touch it again, because of the players).
- Counter-Strike: Source: 52hrs (it should be more like 1,500hrs).
- 3DMark: 45hrs (oops, forgot to shut the app out over the weekend)
- Fallen Earth: 42hrs
- Borderlands: 32hrs
I think Skyrim probably has the most, since for the longest time when I was still in school I had no Internet and just played it from dinner until 3 AM. Steam says 44 hours, but that was my routine for a few months, so I've probably spent something like 800 hours on it. The most time that Steam has logged for any game, though, is DC Universe at 117 hours.
Skyrim with 138 hours. A couple are higher but I know they were just racking up hours because of the hot mess that is U Play.
As a side note, I'm looking at my activity on steamdb and I find the data to be fascinating. Most of my play times clump together around several specific durations: I have ~15 games at 100 hours then it drops off a cliff to about 50 where another 10 are, after which it's a very linear progression downward.
Even without idling, TF2 would be up there for me. CS:Source will always be up there because one in a while I play it and then get caught up in it for a week or two.
Remember when Xfire was popular? God those were the days. It kept track of hours before steam did.

Sid Meier's Civilization V
129 hrs on record
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
110 hrs on record
Empire: Total War
85 hrs on record
Apparently I spent 209 hours in Skyrim. It's actually more than that since you could run the game without Steam for a while at launch, and didn't want it updated since the optimization was so poor then. My guess is around 300 hours were spent total in Skyrim.
