    What?
    What?

And I don't mean the obvious answer of "because devolver digital published them". I mean why are there so many movies on steam? At first when they added the Indie Game movie it was a pretty natural fit I guess (I have never seen indie game the movie) but looking at this sale it's not even all video game documentaries or even video game related films at all. It's what appear to be low budget student films of some sort and I am left asking "Why on steam?".

Is steam the place for "Let's Ruin It With Babies" and "Cancerpants"? Has anyone watched any of this stuff. Is it any good? I'm increasingly feeling like a crotchety old man but I guess that's bound to happen when I open my video game program and find it's full of movies.

When they out Kung Fury on Steam I was like "yeah awesome cool!!!!" but yeah all this stuff seems awful and completely out of place.

@dudeglove: I guess you could say they have more dollars than cents.

My only issue with it is that they need to more clearly designate that those things are movies. I almost mistakenly purchased one a few weeks ago thinking it was an FMV game.

I can't imagine these movies are any good if you can make that comparison.

@chaser324: This is the only issue I have as well - I can't say I've ever accidentally bought a movie, but the majority of the time that I've clicked on a movie page, it has been under the assumption that it's a game...

The majority of them are published by Devolver - and Devolver are having a sale this week. I don't have any desire to watch them, but it makes sense for Steam (and Gog) - you may as well use the leverage of your successful game distribution platform to sell other stuff too...

At the current time, it seems like a token gesture that not many distributors are taking advantage of, much like the software store they have. I wish that Steam would give each category their own storefront so they are clearly distinguished and you could link them to people

@pudge: 100% agree, and i'm okay with them announcing movies' sales on the video games store front but throwing everything on one store is too messy.
