That's fucked up, it's sad news, but man, these communities need to modern up a little, there's no need to be keeping large sums of money at home.

Hopefully the community can help enough to get his family back on track

Fucking sucks, I'll prolly end up donating something. Not sure how much.

I hope everything goes well for Hu and everyone else.

If you've ever been entertained by this man, he deserves your hearty donation!

@Linkyshinks: My completely uneducated guess is that they might not speak english very well, so they don't want to bother with banks. It might be confusing to them.

Saw this earlier on. It's pretty tragic. At least no one was hurt.

What's up with fire today. There's this story I saw today where some warehouse holding animals that are destined to be pets had a fire and burnt thousands of pets alive. Which is pretty grim.

Yeah I donated pretty much all of my money yesterday, was such a bummer to me. Best wishes for Chris Hu and his family.

Sad.  Chris is really funny and a great street fighter.  I'll probably donate a couple bucks when I can.

Man that really does suck. I know what he's going through. I lost everything I had to a house fire a few years back too. At least nobody was hurt.  It will take some time, but they will get back on their feet eventually.

Big ups to Shoryuken.com and MadCatz  for setting up the donation and auction things. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that were affected by this tragedy.

Donated some dough to the duder.

Unfortunately, I have no money to donate.  I wish him the best of luck to him and his family.  Hopefully he has found a temporary home for him and his family.

That's all kinds of unfortunate.
And I'm amazed the Shoryuken community and MadCatz Have done all that.
It's nice to see the good side of the gaming community in the press for once.

But how do you not use a bank?
Seriously...

I heard about this.  Absolutely horrendous.
I feel bad for not donating anything, but I do wish the dude the best.  Hope he and his family manage to bounce back. :/

There's a ton of reasons and they're all fucking retarded. I usually try to save money, put some in a bank, insure the things I own.

There was a time I had large amounts of money stuffed between my mattresses but I was getting paid under the table, pimping out young girls and selling heroin.

Edit: Mad I can't donate to all 50 families.. Shame no one set that up.. but FUCK EM they aren't gamers.. AMIRITE!?

I don't keep any money in the bank. The only time I put money in it is if I want to buy something online and am forced to.

In that circumstance your supposed to keep all your bills in large denominations rolled up in your pocket so you can reach in your pants, whip it out and blow your "wad" on all the bitches.   At least that's the proper etiquette.

Guy I work with doesn't use banks because he doesn't trust them.

I'm not sure I recognize Hu he is.

They don't have insurance? I doubt they don't have insurance. Also anyone who keeps large sums of money at home is probably doing something illegal.

would chis hu donate to me if I lost everything in a fire? no.

lol according to vegita-x (top US zangeif player) chris has been online playing sfiv since the fire, I'm not sure what to think about that. he has my sympathy for all the good that does him, but not my money.

What else would he be doing? There's plenty of ways to find an internet connection to play street fighter on.

I'm glad they're okay. That's terrible news. I don't really know anything about that guy but I hope everything works out fine.
