So after much deliberation I decided to go ahead and pre-order the SE (Standard Edition) version of the Street Fighter IV Fight Stick, along with the normal copy of the game. I really just reserved the game so I could go to the midnight launch if it ends up happening. But yeah. Pumped. 18 DAYS! ZOMGHAAAAAAAD
*edit: GameStop apparently charged me twice for both pre-orders, so now there's a nearly $70 negative balance in my bank. I've contacted GameStop about this and they said I was only charged once, and I'm currently waiting for response from my bank. AWESOME. FUCKING AWESOME. </sarcasm>

Sounds like you had about as good a day as I did. I just went APESHIT trying to configure my network for two 360s. It's working right now....OH SHIT I PROBABLY JUST JINXED MYSELF.
I think this is the better option than getting the EX2
Have you already ordered those parts? and which components have you selected?
Sanwa OBSF-30's or Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm's are the buttons I'm looking at. I won't really know what to go with until I decide what sort of art is going to be under it. If I decide to just put some carbon fiber or something there and not have art, I guess it wouldn't really matter what colors I go with. The stick I might change the ball, but nothing crazy.

That makes sense. As far as the art is concerned, I suggest you look in one of the many SF art books that are available. I recently got a Udon (previous blog) one which has some awesome examples of SF art ideal for use on a joystick.
I have always found this to be a great source for creating a Joytick, bookmark the page for future reference. You may enjoy this little mod job to the point you make want to actually create one from scratch one day. It's quite a enjoyable thing to do I have found.
