" @Napalm said:Theres definitely a bit of smurfing, its pretty blatant in G2 sometimes, but luckily it just gives me some better opponents to play against! It's just hard to adjust when the best 'rog i've played in months was sitting at 2113 GP. I go in all rushdown mode thinking its gonna be another new-to-SF rog and get my ass handed to me, then I play everyone more conservative for a few matches. Tis the way it goes. lol!" @AniMoney said:I usually host and everything over 5% gets kicked out instantly. I have 0% disconnects myself and I am proud of that. As for hitting G1, im sitting just under 10k GP, I can earn 500-1k a night pretty easily, I just don't know as though ill keep playing it to get there. Its one of those games that you can get really frustrated with in a hurry. My friend who used to be a nice 5-5 matchup with me for the last few weeks has gone consistently 9-1 or better against me, after he switched to being the 100% turtle ryu. Its not even a fun match, he knows cammy has next to 0 options when someone is dedicated to turtling, so if hes playing ryu he'll zone until i get in, then just block, tech throws, and wait for a chance to rezone. When the best advice is "pick another character" it's just really easy to get fed up! but we'll see, i may still make it! lol
Yeah I was real proud of my 0% disconnect too, and I don't recall ever rage quitting. Somehow, however, I have 1% disconnect.....ughhh. "I have 0% at the moment but I have had a situation where I was in semi-finals or something, I click quick-match. Click some random guy and as it's loading the screen where you wink and hit ready a box popped up saying something like "[you forfeit the match and must start from the beggining]". I didn't do anything. I think the other guy quit his lobby or something just at the same time as I joined and it counted as me D/C..... If it happens again and I get 1% I'll be pissed as it's not my fault.

The only thing that saves me in G1 is that the only counter for most of my Abel tactics is a correct guess to escape the mixup or pressure string. Fortunately for me, humans are very poor random number generators. I can't even imagine playing a linear character like Balrog or Sagat in G1; people are too solid defensively. Sometimes it feels impossible to surprise some of the better players.

Whether G1 peeps are good or not, the amount of time played to get to this level = seen most of the crazy antics possible. Every time I play Mr. Hedgehog I learn something new though, only because he is a crazy bastard and those jazz hands of his are made of pure hatred. I hate you sir in the most loving way possible.
G1 competition is not bad, I just find myself getting annoyed most of the time even though I'm winning most of the time. I find that the worse a player is, the more they'll try to tick throw me, and that just gets annoying after the 4th tech. Usually when a person techs my throw a few times, I give them the respect of finding another soft spot. Then there's the Masterchief Shotos that think jump kicks and sweeps are still the best way to fight Vega, till they get focus crumpled and beat down.
Every once in a while I find a player that makes me try but for the most part, G1 is as bad as G2 but with better defense. People with 60000GP are just as weak as the ones with 15000.
" @Gargantuan said:Hmm, that's possible, but I think it was around 50 last time I checked. Doesn't matter though since I've given up on the game." Congrats! I've played around 100 matches and my Grade points isn't even above 100. /Sigh "Don't you get 1 GP even if you lose your 1st round match in G3?? "
"Congrats! I've played around 100 matches and my Grade points isn't even above 100. /Sigh "is this your first street fighter?
Well I finally did it, I rage quit! God help you if you ever run into a cunt in g1 named alwaysno1 or something similar. He is a run away Akuma in the worst sense, he truly does nothing but jump back fireball and teleport. After the first round ended in a time over, I was sick of chasing his lame ass and called it quits. Some how this fucker has 30k points. This alone proves how little skill you need to climb up the ranks.
/rant
Ive never rage quitted. I know that im one of the few that haven't.
Sure I complain about assholes that spam srk's during jabs, or people who only know 1 move, but that is part of playing SF, and I am ok with those types of people. This guy seriously got under my skin....I was probably 30 seconds from chucking my stick at my tv. And no, not the stick in my pants, pervs. Do assholes really think the game is fun playing like that?
lp mp fp no function
wk mk rh no function
What made you curious? When I was using a 360 controller a couple months ago I had the most fucked up configuration ever. I had a dedicated throw button, focus button and no weak kick. It was an absolute mess, but was the only setup I could use with Ken. Just the thought of it makes me ill.
I think when I get a PS3, I'm gonna try to have the worst one ever, just you wait.
G1 is alright. People there make less mistakes, and are more likely to link attacks into an ultra. People still fight cleanly and fun. Although some throw allot --> I am talking about those Chun-Li Players. ._o
" @SpecialBuddy: We both know I suck too much to use Gen. He is beyond my level of skill. I looked like a fucking retard.....step kicking and jumping for literally 99 seconds trying to get close to the guy. I accept all types of fighting styles but seriously.. how to do they invest time into a game and expect to be respected for such lack of utilization of moves??
" Won first G1 Final. "And all you get is +163 ??!?
I would have thought you'd get at least at least double what the looser gets.
I am still in G3.... I need to learn to use another character... i used only Guile... but I know I am not going to go further with him.... I dont know... i always liked dhalsim but it will take me forever to get good with him
And all you get is +163 ??!? I would have thought you'd get at least at least double what the looser gets. "Yeah!! I guess it keeps you in G1 longer. :P You gain points fast in G1, gaining GP even if you lose, except the first battle where you lose 5GP.
To Break it down:
First Battle Lose: -5GP
Second Battle Lose: +10GP
Third Battle Lose: +20GP
Semi-Final Lose: +52GP
Final Lose: +106GP
@copycatzen:
Hrm.. Dhalsim is unique :P
" @Alex_Murphy said:You can loose GP if you loose the first battle??!? And I thought it sucked that you don't get any points if you loose the first battle in G2.And all you get is +163 ??!?
