After nearly a decade in hiatus, Capcom's signature mainline fighting game series resurfaces with its fourth main installment, combining the traditional 2D gameplay with modern fully-3D graphics.

"jakob187 said:Oh, and the plastic gives you herpes. Congratulations."This just in: all Australian copies are defective. Please return them to the store, then look in the mirror and punch yourself square in the face."Oh, and by opening the box you've rendered yourself infertile."

Don't get the game until Friday here in the UK. I can't wait. But likewise I know the second I load it up I'm going to remember just how fucking hard the game is.
It's now 10.42pm, 17/2, and I feel...
IN-FREAKING-FRUSTRATABLE!!
This game is the complete opposite to fun. The barrier to entry is so high and the game makes learning neither easy or fun. This is grind-fest 2000 on steroids. Capcom have made a friggin awesome looking game that everyone should admire, but that only the truly hard core are allowed to see.
I had picked up this game for some fun, and a change of pace from countless shooters. I didn't realise they were basically blocking people at the door.
These are my initial impressions, from someone who hasn't played SF since button mashing on some keyboard many years ago at Super SF II. But I do remember having fun back then. Not now.
My thumb is sore. I'm a competitor though so I want to go back and try again. But I'm really hoping I 'get it' soon, otherwise this is going back within 7 days. Hell damn crap, I thought all this talk of 'training modes' would get me in. Guess not :(
So, initial impressions:
- Looks great
- Probably is awesome if you're super freaking hard core
- Is the opposite of fun if you're not
