So if you didn't know I've embarked on a journey to make my own ps3/360 joystick specifically to play SFIV, but hopefully venture into other fighters. I spent 3-4 hours last Sunday with my brother creating this pretty bad ass box.  Luckily he had a plethora of tools that made this job relatively easy.  Main tools were the table saw and drill!

Here's the first iteration roughly put together:

The acrylic cracked while drilling so gotta make a new one of those, but overall AWESOME!  So for finishing I took it all apart and glued it back together as square as possible.  I then proceeded to sand the crap out of it, now on about my 4th pass of sanding.

    Current iteration:

After all this sanding I decided to take a brake from construction and jump on some soldering.  Went to Radioshack and busted $50 bucks on parts and tools =/.  Anyways I put together the board for the actual controller.

    Parts:

    Together:

Here's a short Video of my progress thus far:

That's sick dude.   I'm trying to make my own too, ordered my parts back in late february or early march can't really remember, but the damn things still haven't arrived.   Ordered them from the UK cause I'm in canada and the exchange rate would be terrible if I ordered from lizardlick, but now I'm wishing I had gone that route.

ah dang yea... SF4 hype has killed a lot of these arcade stores.  They were used to a certain amount of traffic and then BAM.

You live in NC, huh? Funny, I live there too. Do you ever leave this joystick-in-progress on a window sill or other vulnerable location from which I might pilfer it?

    I mean.

WHY did you buy an X360 stick if you don't even have the system.

There are a shit load of people looking around for those things, (myself included), and people purchasing such items and then just letting them sit them for all eternity isn't helping any.

..As for your homemade stick, very nice so far. Kind of looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
