Just wondering...
Street Fighter IV got me into 2d fighting.
Plus it's summer so I have a lot of time on my hands now.
Street Fighter IV
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Jul 18, 2008
After nearly a decade in hiatus, Capcom's signature mainline fighting game series resurfaces with its fourth main installment, combining the traditional 2D gameplay with modern fully-3D graphics.
Who here is buying Blazblue or King of Fighters XII?
I'm getting BlazBlue over KOF12 because I've played BlazBlue and love it! :) Got it on pre-order and everything. Was just playing it last week, as a matter of fact, and busting-out Ragna's Astral on unsuspecting victims online will be so sweet :p
However, I may pick-up KOF12 as well after the initial price cut or buy it used, way later down the road, if the reviews are gewd enough.
Yeah I was anticipating FNR4, but the demo really knocked it down the summer list for me.
I'm also leaning towards BlazBlue, mainly because of the kickass LE edition that is standard first-run copy. Yeah, it looks like I'll be getting that one first, I hope its good though.
I kinda already get the feeling KOF will be well done, all these hands on previews at E3, and no one's brought up any issues. But BlazBlue, it seems like no one's been writing any previews. Have you guys read any lately?
There's plenty of videos up on youtube showing the combat but even then I still need to play it to get a feel for it since Ive never played a Guilty Gear. Also, standard run Limited Edition is pretty cool; that's a main reason I'm leaning towards BlazBlue.
KoF definately seems the most Street Fighter-y.
I'm gonna be gettin King of Fighters 12.
I can't stop the fighting game train that I'm on. I gotsta keep on rolling.
I imagine I'll pick up BlazBlue at some point, don't have $60 to spend at the moment though so it'll have to drop in price first I think.
Thinking about KoFXII. Probably gonna buy so I can get a firsthand impression of the game.... That is if it gets a decent metareview.
Havent really looked at BlazBlue yet, but im pretty stoked about fighting games since the release of SFIV so I might give it a go.
All of the above is, of course, on the condition that it gets a EU release like Rhaknar said.
BlazBlue has a lot of really technical things you can do, to just simply destroy other Players who don't know all the intricacies. It's like you almost have to be a master of Focus Cancels in Street Fighter IV, except in Street Fighter IV, you don't have to be to compete :p
BlazBlue is a really good game for those that really get into it's depth. My guess is that it will be better than King of Fighters XII, and definitely Street Fighter IV (but maybe not Street Fighter III :D), but only to the hardcore.
I'll get both, because I want to CASUALLY play a fighting game again. It's crazy that I've gotten so deep into Street Fighter that I am always super-competitive. I WANT TO MASH AGAIN!
I'm a total SNK dork, so the minute I saw the new KOF I knew I was going to buy it.
I'm going to buy BlazBlue as well (I love GG, and, well, I collect 2d fighters), but I wish I could hear more about it. One of my favorite things about the Guilty Gear series was its story mode, and it looks like this won't have one. Ah well, it'll just have to be a pure online endavour for me I suppose.
Hmm I think I will end up getting Blaz Blue! I messed around with it in the arcades and I had no idea wtf i was doin.. obviously its very different from Street Fighter.. Then KOF i'm still debating,, but I may in the future.
