The fifth numbered entry in Capcom's signature fighting game series revamps the game's mechanics yet again while using a new system for post-release content.
*gasp* It does! Teleports are annoying but in MK you just have a block button so it's not really a huge issue there. I'm getting better and better at blocking crossups so I don't really care that much but it's definitely something that can initially appear to be cheap (and certainly is cheap in some games).
Sooo sick! Since he has a teleport, I really hope he doesn't have Guile recovery speed on his booms. Also chainable ground-to-air crossup teleports lol. Well, I trust Capcom to balance it given how well they've done with IV and the fact that Combofiend is on the team.
Where is this trailer coming from? Is this like, pre-GDC buildup or something?
First Charlie and now Dictator with a cape what is this ALPHA!?
I'm actually pretty bummed about this. Charlie was my favorite character when I was a kid and I really missed him during the SS4 renaissance. I was pumped when they hinted at his return with the first trailer, but now it looks like they've effectively made a new character and merely given it Charlie's name/hair. On top of that, I'll second the person before me who bemoaned teleporting in fighting games.
Long story short: this doesn't look anything like the Charlie we've known and that leaves me deeply disappointed.
As long as most of his crazy cross up teleports have a heavy costs, either 1 or 2 super chunks or only being available in the instinct like mode that seems to be in the game, then I am pretty stoked for this. Regardless of if I use him he just looks sick to fight against. I would happily have FrankenCharlie kick my ass.
@viciousbearmauling: Eh I would take the sign with a grain of salt. I wish it was an easy confirmation, I was so glad he got in IV as early as the console version and that he was popular all over again I'd love to see him in V.
