Street Fighter and Tekken Fit Better Than You Might Think
yeah, i'll pass and wait for the inevitable super street fighter x super tekken or whatever they end up calling it 6-12 months down the line in 2013
The point of the game is to offensive and have Tekken-like juggles, and the tag system is akin to TTT. They're putting realistic amounts of Tekken into it. Plus Tekken characters moves or something focus on 4 buttons or something, they haven't been specific on it." I dunno Jeff, I see no Tekken mechanics in there at all. This is Tekken purely in terms of roster. "
Anyway, if the inputs aren't fucked like in SFIV, and they have a nice Blanka-less roster, I'm totally down. Loving it all so far.
This game's intro movie needs to have the Akuma vs. Gouken fight in the volcano. Then just as Akuma is about to finish off Gouken, Kazuya's body lands on Akuma giving Gouken a chance to escape in the confusion. Akuma is, of course, pissed.
So this gonna be a more serious fighting game.
Street Fighter CROSS Tekken? That was a joke, right? Please, tell me that was a joke. SOMEBODY CONFIRM. WHAT'S GOING ON? RESPOND!!
" " The whole system feels a little freeform, like it would allow players to get more creative with their combos. " -- that's the antithesis of most Tekken games. Heck, until 5/Dark Resurrection, they've been relying on preset, locked-in animations and their patented "Dial-a-combos" 100%. This is Capcom after all - none of their fighters have ever had sh**ty, locked-down dial-a-combos like in the 3D Mortal Kombats or Tekkens. Btw, how weird is it that Soul Calibur never suffered from this, and it's also made by Namco? "Since when have you been locked in preset animations for combos in Tekken? Unless you are talking about the one who is being attacked, who is indeed "locked" until he lands back on the ground, you have always been free to do whatever you want in a juggle. How else would you do resets, tech traps and just setups in general? Please don't tell me you are referring to the 10-hit combos, they are absolutely worthless in anything beyond casual play.
Also: MvC3, made by Capcom. That game has longer and more damaging juggles than Tekken.
Not only inevitable. They already announced it at the same time as this game." yeah, i'll pass and wait for the inevitable super street fighter x super tekken or whatever they end up calling it 6-12 months down the line in 2013 "

" @DarkTravesty said:That's actually Namco's game. They're different games. That one will probably use Tekken's fighting engine. From the bit of concept art that's been released, it looks like the art style is very Tekken as well. Not only inevitable. This looks too much like Samurai Showdown right now...which for some isnt a bad thing, but I haven't been a fan of that look for a long time. Hopefully it gets more polished as release draws near. Still gonna by it either way...lol
Im actually pretty excited for this game.
" @TrackZero said:Right, I read Dark's comment to mean the next game like this. I understand Tekken X Street Fighter is from the Namco side, but to the majority of people out there, it'll be the "next" game, despite design differences." @DarkTravesty said:That's actually Namco's game. I think he was making light of Capcom's recent tendency to re-release their games with seemingly minor changes and improvements. Tekken X Street Fighter does not seem to fit that bill." @Underachiever007 said:

Tekken used to be a somewhat big deal to me and my friends here in Norway.
There was even little tournaments around for Tekken Tag,
but it all kinda died off after Tekken 4 - I've been wanting to like the series
but it's grown ever so distant since the first few releases.
This looks and sounds promising though!
