" So with SF X Tekken you're essentially getting SFIV with new character models and movesets? More interested to see what Tekken X SF will look like. "
Too early to say what it is we're getting, really. The game is using the Street Fighter IV engine, but that doesn't mean that Capcom won't make some heavy modifications to it. It was pretty obvious that the demonstration they ran at the show was just for show and not representative of what the final game is going to be like.
I just don't understand how they will make this work. By the look of the reveal video for SF X Tekken, it seems like this game will be a Street Fighter with Tekken guys, So I'm thinking Tekken X SF will be SF guys in the Tekken engine. But I can't see any interest for either game. The games are different in almost every way: 3D vs. 2D, button per limb vs. low-mid-high setting, CQC vs. fireballs, and so on. I tried SF4 and it wasn't for me. I do like Tekken, so SF X Tekken (if it will be what i think it will) doesn't really interest me. On the flip side of Tekken X SF, might be neat for me but the SF characters are complete unknowns. I doubt any SF player (which i'm sure that set has much more people than the Tekken followers) will be interested in this for the same reason.
So what do you think ? what do Capcom and Namco need to do to get both groups to get the games ?
