    2 fighting kings=silver

Street Fighter x Tekken clashes two of the biggest fighting franchise in the 2D and 3D world. It does it pretty well.

Street Fighter 4 fans will be happy to hear that this closely resembles to Street Fighter 4 in many ways. The gameplay is rewards timing and patients. However it does have a pretty big learning curve compared to other Capcom fighters, with EX moves, Unique attacks, cross arts, cross assaults, pandora , mid combo swtiches, launchers, and of course the gem system. The GEM system is the main attraction, it closely resembles UMVC3 heros and herald mode, gems give power ups to players during battle depending on the the gems requirements. PANDORA mode resemble once again the X-Factor in UMVC3, at first I thought it would break the game but after playing with it, I think its quite useless. If the player uses Pandora doesn't defeat his opponent or bring his opponents HP lower the his, the fight ends when Pandora ends regardless of how much time is left on the timer. Cross Arts and Cross Assault both brings out both characters but in completely different ways. Cross Arts is a 2 character super, it does plenty of damage depending on the characters in use. Cross Assault is where players have both of their characters fighting together on the field, both requires 3 bars.

From the moment you turn this game on, you will be smacked in the face of how much it resembles Street Fighter 4. Capcom didn't just take the big muscle bound art style from SF4, they took the entire menu as well. There is roughly 11 stages in the game, but each stage changes after each fight, whether its lighting, background animation, or just straight up new stages its all great to look at. Capcom has always been great when it came to animations for their fighting franchises and this one is no different.

Sound is where it gets weird, it comes with both japanese and english dubbing like SF4 and UMVC3, The music in this game varies depending on the stage you've chosen, it ranges from rock, to electronica. techno. I'm sure many of you have heard about the sound issues while playing online and its true. Its a very weird feeling landing combos and not hearing any feedback from it. It is however something players will need to get pass if they plan on playing this game for some time.

Conclusion: while not perfect its still a very solid fighting game. The tekken players are done well and I personally only play tekken players because I've already played Super Street Fighter 4. For those who love Street FIghter 4 its a no brainer it resembles that game so much and we're allowed to choose 2 characters now. I also found it VERY VERY WEIRD how I am allow to cross over the opponent while that person is in the corner. Which never happens in a fighting game. I wonder if its by design or they missed it..

I forgot to talk about scramble mode, its a mode where up to 4 players can play as a team or free for all with 4 players on the screen, its a good laugh if players can manage to gather 4 friends in one house. Players can do it online but nothing beats playing with friends right next to you.

Alright, before we start this review let's just deal with the elephant in the room. Yes, Capcom has included 12 characters on the game, meaning they were ready when the game came out and they easily could have already included them, but instead are making you pay extra for them. And yes, that is somewhat messed up to say the least. Although I will say that I'm very happy with how the entire gaming community has sort of come out as one against this practice this time and might cause gaming compan...

      Lessons unlearned. 0

I lied. I said a few months back that I wouldn’t be purchasing Street Fighter X Tekken on account of learning a valuable lesson on how Capcom does business. I was the fool that purchased the Limited Edition of Ordinary Marvel vs. Capcom 3, guffawed at the homogenous collector’s comic that was loosely attached to the tin case, then sold said case immediately because Ultimate Less-Ordinary Marvel vs. Capcom 3 happened. I had vowed then and there to never buy a first generation Capcom game again, a...
